We suspected that the ER-6 n would quickly present us with a sister. A roadster like that with such a nice mill, it could only garner a small family. And the new arrival is called ER-6 F. With this unique letter, the little kawa puts on a most elegant dress which transforms her suddenly into a real little road.. Its soft lines are reminiscent of the last ZX-636R, its optics the Z 1000 and its rear end the Z 750 S; she also stole his dashboard. No doubt, she is part of the Kawa family.
With its enthusiastic engine, its playful and natural side, its excellent balance and now this fairing, a protection that seems very correct as well as the ABS option, the ER-6 is about to shake up all its competitors without the slightest consideration. Its arrival will be in a faded area: the N version will have already prepared the ground.
Who ? Oh, just the bikers who want a playful but not vicious motorcycle, cheap without being a jerk, easy having forgotten to be boring, flirtatious and a bit naughty; in short, a sacred mass of interested Some might think that with this new look, the ER-6 has also changed on other points. They are not entirely wrong. The wheelbase, column angle and trim of the little Kawa have changed significantly; this is due to the slightly shortened rear shock absorber. What implications would you ask me? Not much, except an even more moderate pressure on the forearms and more comfort for the pilot. That’s good for a motorcycle that has dressed like a road. This dress, which refines its silhouette, guarantees more aesthetic than protective virtues. Do not expect the fairing sides to be a great help in combating the cold which arises without compassion on the legs and sidewalls. You will have more support on the bubble side, effective enough as long as your height conforms to the national average.
A slightly firmer fork, a shorter rear shock. These are just a few tweaks that don’t change the very pleasant demeanor of the young and daring ER-6. She twirls around with a gesture, reassures and enthuses the youngsters, surprises with joy with her spontaneity and efficiency, and finishes convincing with her excellent little twin, both flexible and full of passion..
Given its more than correct price, it would be a shame not to think about the ABS option, which we can afford for € 500. A little braking aid that can often save you the day on fatty, wet, or (bad) player terrain. The ER-6’s doesn’t stop you from playing with the brakes, only triggering when it really starts to suck.
It’s a shame that Kawa didn’t put a little more smoothness in its rear damping. It already felt on the N, and is more annoying on this more typical road machine. And if you are tall, you may be annoyed by the limited space on board the motorcycle. Well yes, we have to find some faults in this ER-6 F, as it offers us a lot for such a canon price.
