The KX 250
had already received a good batch of developments for its 2020 vintage; no time
to revel in it that it is already investigating profound changes for 2021.
Even more muscular, the Kawasaki cross comes with the biggest
never-before-seen power and a host of features
“centered on the pilot” which will allow him to confirm his place of
motorcycle of choice in its category.
In the heart
of this new model is a state-of-the-art engine offering
additional 1 kW (1.4 HP) at maximum speed, without sacrificing
low and mid-range performance, so characteristic of the spirit of the Kawa.
The increase
of the maximum speed of 350 rpm is equally attractive to pilots,
because it adds to the already impressive performance of the KX 250. The mono now takes 14,500 rpm.
The
new developments in evo 2021 do not end there. They start with the addition
welcome of an electric starter for the first time on a KX 250 as well
that the adoption of a hydraulic clutch of the same type as that used on the
KX 450 from the 2019 model.
The
possibility of reassembling and restarting immediately after a fall is
obvious and the seconds gained could make the difference to
the arrival. The fast starting, reliability and durability of a clutch
hydraulic are instant benefits in the race that will be greatly appreciated
pilots.
In terms
style and part cycle, the novelties are also at the level of
changes to fine and ergonomic plastics, as well as a new
frame / swingarm combination modeled on the successful 450 chassis.
Besides,
the standard suspension settings have been fine-tuned to better absorb the
shocks and facilitate traction, while a series of adjustments in the system
brake provides even more optimal control. Speaking of control, a
choice of four handlebar positions and two footrest adjustments allows
pilots to customize their driving position according to their height
and their preferences.
