With its widely (and beneficial) revised design, this second generation of Versys 1000 finally adopts a visual aggressiveness in line with its dynamic behavior. Designed for driving, far towards the countryside and not really on stones, the Kawasaki trail benefits from an atypical technical sheet: 4-cylinder engine and chassis stitched to the Z 1000 SX roadster, on-board electronics borrowed from the 1400 GTR and ZX-10R , face with H2R sauce – enough to stir curiosity and be tempted by the journey to the sporty aftertaste.
Even more in this Grand Tourer edition. Already released on the previous generation of 1000 Versys, the Grand Tourer pack allows the traveler to take on board many effects. Two suitcases very well integrated, both in terms of design and fixing system, offer 28 liters of capacity limited to 5 kilos each. To protect your load, “interior suitcase” bags are provided. They will provide an appreciable protective envelope but reduce the capacity to 27 liters per bag. Yes, well, me finally, 2 liters less on a total capacity of 103 liters (with the top-case), we are not going to quibble. However, the old 1000 Versys Grand Tourer did better: its less classy but larger bunkers brought the capacity to 117 L.
The previously mentioned top box opens with 47 liters of cargo. Enough to stuff plenty of food or two full face helmets. Very appreciable, all luggage can be opened with the ignition key – only one key for all the on-board locks, it’s very simple but it simplifies your life.
Designed for big stages, the Versys 1000 GT is also adorned with a set of long-range LED lights, a self-adhesive tank protection kit, and a series of small accessories. In total, the Grand Tourer pack is composed as follows:
– Bag fixing kit
– Saddlebags 2 x 28 L
– Saddlebag “one key” lock system
– Saddlebag covers
– Saddlebag stickers
– Saddlebag interiors
– 47 L top case plate
– Top case 47 L
– AL Platinum
– 47 L top case lid
– Top-case “one key” lock system
– Handguard support
– Handguard plastic
– Additional lights
– Tank protection
– 12V accessory socket
– Relay
– Crankcase protectors
– Gear indicator engaged
A little heavier, wider, more bulky, this cargo version of the Versys 1000 will require a little more attention when driving (especially in town) quickly erased when the horizon clears. The Versys knows how to be dynamic while driving and its equipment is provided: 120 horsepower distilled in the flexibility of a 4-legged, ABS, KTRC anti-slip at three levels, anti-dribble clutch and two power modes.
