Kawasaki manages the feat of giving us a visual slap with each new evolution of the Z 1000. Except this time, the development of this big street-fighter is not the result of an evolution but a whole new model. With “total freedom of design”, the engineers were able to let go in all directions. Look at this contraption! It’s sharp from start to finish, with fangs all over the place and wrestler’s shoulders. The fork crown is still inspired by the 1st model … with a lot of testosterone and a good dose of mutagen. A small detail tells us a lot about the care taken in this new Z 1000 – Take a close look at the swingarm, the end, here it is: an eccentric chain adjustment – How long has we not seen such element on a Japanese? Simply classy.
You immediately recognized the signature Kawa on the front axle: petal discs, radial brake calipers and a beautiful inverted fork, So I will draw your attention to the heart of the machine, I will talk to you later of its 1043 cm3 engine because …. With this sinister aspect to perfection, hard to believe that the Z 1000 retains the first specificities that have made its reputation: a tuning and sharp design, painted rims with polished edges, 2 double exhausts (although the pots have deep changed) and a character of his own.
As for its dynamism, Kawa admits having neither looking for maximum power, nor the most dazzling speed (there is the ZX-10 R and its 200 horsepower for that). The Z 1000 is a street-fighter and will fulfill its prerogatives as such: to impress (check the imitation snakeskin saddle a little on the metallic Brown color) and offer maximum driving pleasure. The Ducati 1098 Streetfighter, Yamaha FZ1 and other Triumph Speed Triple have better watch out.
