Victory is Kawasaki’s only goal in competition, and the latest thoroughbred from the KX team reflects that mindset well with his sharp, elegant lines. The KX 450 F is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technologies for 2016, while retaining the elements that have made Kawasaki a benchmark off-road brand for the past 40 years..
With 32 AMA Supercross titles to its credit – a record for all manufacturers – the KX family has amply earned its title of “creator of champions”. The all-new KX 450 F has seen its weight lighten (3.4 kilos) significantly both in terms of the engine and the chassis; it announces the lightest chassis in its class and a total weight of 108.7 kg. The result, the precision and the handling of the motorcycle are improved, the thinner chassis, carrying a more powerful engine, reinforces the capacities on circuit.
The weight reduction is only part of the changes made to the Kawasaki off-road emblem. The engine has been designed based on technologies developed for factory pilots such as, for example, the high performance piston with internal dome in bridge inaugurated on the KX 450 F 2010 series. The changes made to the cylinder block, intake valves and exhaust line allowed the machine to evolve towards even more performance..
The KX 450 F has the ultimate in electronic technology such as launch control, DFI direct injection couplers (plug-and-play) and the adjustable ECU on different maps. These features make it possible to adapt as well as possible to the most diverse driving conditions. With the new KX FI injection calibration kit (optional), every rider can achieve the same type of precision in their engine settings as an official Kawasaki team. In addition, the ergonomics on board have been studied to adapt to all with in particular an adjustable handlebar in 4 positions and adjustable footrests in 2 positions..
The ultra thin and light chassis is complemented by a competition-ready SFF-Air TAC fork, well known to be the key to the performance of the KX 450 F. The large diameter of the tubes (49mm) accentuates the feeling of grip and rigidity while the very low frictions (thanks to the aluminum and titanium composition of the fork) make it possible to absorb shocks well. This high-end suspension allows you to make precise and easy adjustments.
The oversized petal discs provide great stopping power and the 270mm diameter front disc also offers great feeling.
The 2016 KX 450 F sports a new minimalist factory motorcycle look. The new design includes a thinner, reoriented radiator, a flatter saddle and tank. The saddle is seamless allowing the rider to move more easily.
The bike appears more compact thanks to a more aggressive design, but also by its graphics inspired by factory machines. The black fork and green reminders allow you to immediately recognize that you are facing a Kawasaki.
Finally, the alumite green coating the fork adjusters, shock absorber and on certain parts of the engine adds to the KX 450 F an image of high performance. Just like with the choice of color, every rider knows that lime green is the only way to ride.
In 2016, the race to the top will be fiercer than ever.
The KX 450 F proudly stands as a leader in its class with superior performance on paper and on the track. Delivering power and glory, the new KX 450 F will undoubtedly add victories to the KX charts next season and give its riders the most thrilling sensations of their lives..
