Kawasaki has finally released a roadster version of its H2. And what version !!! Joining the Z family, this almost surreal machine will give pride of place to emotions and engineering enthusiasts. Taking the technique of the H2 and H2 SX, the Z H2 will be the only roadster on the market to be equipped with a compressor. There is enough to send you to Mars.
200 horsepower. Crazy thing. Akashi’s hyperfighter spits out the same power as the H2 when it is released. A force equivalent to that of an R1 or a GSX-R 1000. With the famous compressor blowing in the guts, the Z H2 promises huge punches in the back with each acceleration. There are the horses … there is the way the boiler distributes them. In H2s, it’s a big heart that lifts the pilot’s heart with each rotation of the throttle..
This block has been retouched to offer more torque in low and medium revs. Maddening, its maximum reaches 14 mkg.
If the Z H2 takes advantage of the compressor and the trellis frame of its pressurized cousins, it receives other technical attributes. No single-sided swingarm but a ZX-10R type element. Braking is supported by Brembo M4.32 calipers.
The anti-lock brakes and the shifter are present as well as a host of buttons on the stems, obviously borrowed from the Versys SE. Enough to control the many electronic aids to prevent the Z from orbiting you at each exit of a bend. We find intelligent KIBS braking, an IMU inertial unit, standstill assistant, KTRC traction control with 3 modes, 2 power modes, cruise control, and a beautiful color TFT screen with smartphone connectivity..
Based on H2 technology, the nastiest Z in the family has one of its flaws: weight. With a full tank total of 239 kilos, the power-to-weight ratio is less frightening than the total power displayed. He is the heaviest of the hyper-roadsters, but his technique and the character of his presurized mechanics make him one of the most furious fighter..
The price will also calm enthusiasm, but the machine is not a roadster like the others. A mixture of aggressiveness, fury and madness reserved for those for whom going crazy is not enough.
