The time has come for Moto-Guzzi; the time of wide open spaces and long journeys. And here is the vessel that opens the doors of great tourism to the Mandello firm: the Norge 1200. This name may not mean anything to you, unless you are a hardened Guzzist. The first Norge, a 13 hp 500 GT, was born in 1928 – it was an innovative model in terms of comfort.
Almost 80 years later, it is a beautiful and majestic machine which takes up the torch. A direct competitor of the BMW R 1200 RT, it carries all the fittings capable of satisfying the long haul: imposing protective fairing, electrically adjustable windscreen, ABS, cardan shaft, side cases, all as standard – well almost; it all depends on the level of finish.
The twin with transverse cylinder heads is also coming back to the fore. A big GT, it must have a big mill and torque. The engine of the Norge climbs in displacement to become a 1200. Its power of 95 hp and a torque of 10.2 mkg quite stick to the vocation of this machine..
The 1200 Norge is available with 4 trim levels:
-> Norge 1200 T: € 13,490 – ABS, manually adjustable screen, no suitcases
-> Norge 1200 TL: € 13,790 – ABS, electrically adjustable windscreen, no suitcases
-> Norge 1200 GT: € 14,490 – ABS, electric screen, side cases, heated grips and lower fairing
-> Norge 1200 GTL: € 15,490 – ABS, electric screen, side cases with their soft bags, heated grips, lower fairing, top-case and GPS router.
