Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade (2020)
Connecting rod problems force deliveries to be stopped
Due to problems with the connecting rods, delivery of the new CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade has been delayed in Europe. Unfortunately, German buyers also have to be patient.
Quite bitter news for all buyers of the brand new Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade: Before the fun could start, the new one has to be F.ireblade, which has led to a delivery freeze in Europe. According to Honda, 300 copies of the new super sports car are affected by the problem. Metallurgical defects have occurred in the connecting rods of the four-cylinder, which must be checked again and, if necessary, corrected. The problem only occurs with models intended for Europe. Other markets are not affected by the recall, according to Honda.
Buyers still have to be patient
Honda emphasizes that a new Fireblade has not yet been delivered that is equipped with the defective components. Fortunately, the error was discovered before delivery. Unfortunately, European buyers will have to wait a little longer.
Honda
The delivery of the new FIreblade is delayed by a few weeks.
In Germany, too, buyers seem to be affected. At least in the Fireblade forum, various users report delivery delays of their new CBR 1000 RR-R. Future Fireblade owners also report in the forum that the new blade should be available at the end of May / beginning of June according to dealer statements. Honda Germany also confirmed at the end of May 2020 that the delivery of the new Fireblade would be delayed by a few weeks due to additional measures to ensure product quality for customers and dealers. After the test has been completed, the vehicles are then successively delivered to the respective dealers, who then hand over the new Fireblades to the customers.
Conclusion
Of course, it is always not necessarily a good thing if problems are discovered with a new model before it is shipped. For most buyers, however, a delayed delivery date is likely to be more acceptable than a recall shortly after the takeover and the first few kilometers covered.
