Honda Integra in the compact test
Half scooter, half motorcycle
The Honda Integra with 55 hp 750 series twin-cylinder is something in between, a hybrid, a know-nothing: the deep step-through speaks for a classification as a scooter, the greeting hands of oncoming motorcyclists for a classification as a motorcycle.
An oncoming motorcyclist greets you again! Well, the Honda I.ntegra is just a hybrid, half large scooter, half (touring) motorcycle. After all, the chassis with bridge frame and large 17-inch wheels as well as 750 in-line twin-cylinders come from the successful NC 750 sisters. Just combined with a free passage, large fairing and standard double clutch (DCT) on the conventional gear transmission.

Half scooter, half motorcycle
Honda Integra with a range of 400 kilometers
Thanks to its 270-degree crankshaft, the long-stroke twin, designed for strong torque, pulsates like a 90-degree V2, vibrating gently. It only has one throttle valve, but two balance shafts. And is known to be economical, Honda mentions 3.5 liters of standard consumption per 100 kilometers. The 14.1 liter tank of the Honda Integra is good for a range of 400 kilometers. You tear it off well protected behind the high pane. The 79 centimeter high seat is comfortably upholstered. Smaller drivers have to stretch. The Integra rolls smoothly and nimbly through the bends on thick 160 mm rear tires. Bridgestone T 30 tires (in the special code "E") are good goods.
The new, tighter damped telescopic fork from Showa with “Dual Bending Valve” technology is accurate. It offers reserves and noticeable progression. In 2016, the spring base on the rear shock absorber can be varied. The compromise between comfort and stability is okay. Two simple disc brakes have the 238 kilograms of the Honda Integra under control. Both brake levers are adjustable; in contrast to the NC models, the swing arm is made of aluminum instead of plain steel.
LED lights shine brightly for headlights / daytime running lights and taillights, the cockpit, which can now be set in nine colors, shines brightly. It can even encourage economical driving by changing colors depending on the setting. However, there are still shortcomings in the maintenance-intensive drive chain (why not a toothed belt?) And the small storage compartment, which, unlike the more than 1000 Euro cheaper NCs, doesn’t even hold a jet helmet. But for 9,305 euros, the motorcycle-like Honda Integra is much cheaper than the large scooter BMW C 650 Sport and Yamaha TMax. A personality of integrity.
