Of course, the relevant boot suppliers have long recognized the need and have models in their range that can be summarized under the wonderfully contemporary term crossover. Different approaches are followed in the construction of the “cross-over boots”. Some approach the subject from the hardcore side, and the result is a tough dog like that Gaerne G-Force. Although it offers a lot of basic stability and also decent protection potential, it is unfortunately so clunky that its suitability for everyday use falls by the wayside. Completely incomprehensible: the lack of water resistance. Other providers approach the topic from the touring boot side. But it is not enough to install a few quick-release buckles and the somewhat unmotivated distribution of protective planking. The streetfighter and the one too IXS are examples of such half-hearted solutions. The BMW boot proves that a softer solution definitely has bestseller potential. Although it lacks the basic stability of real enduro boots, it allows so much feeling for the motorcycle through that GS riders rarely get the best out of it. Combined with a high level of comfort and good workmanship, the verdict “very good” is the logical consequence.

But have implemented the crossover concept most consistently Alpinestars and especially Sidi. The two most expensive boots also offer the most, namely the best of both worlds. Conclusion
The most expensive boots are at the top of the final bill, the cheaper ones in the lower half – the knowledge that good footwear simply costs good money is once again confirmed by this boot test.
