KTM SX models 2019
Updates for 2- and 4-stroke models
For the 2019 model year, KTM has provided its cross models from the SX family with various updates. The chassis and the engines were refilled.
To keep the cross models of the KTM family competitive for future tasks KTM has given the two- and four-stroke models various updates across all displacement classes.
All SX models have been given a revised frame for improved bending characteristics, even more agile handling and greater stability when driving straight ahead. There is also a longer rear frame, a revised rear axle mount and a completely new bodywork for better ergonomics and greater freedom of movement. The completely new look with new graphics complements the new lines of the seat and the new fuel tank. A new air filter box is supposed to improve the protection of the air filter against dirt, while the revised, significantly slimmer exhaust system in the 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines is supposed to be useful in terms of power output and performance.
Engines have been massively revised
A new cooler should improve the cooling and with its new positioning also optimize the center of gravity. The lithium-ion battery for the electric starter system and the wiring harness have been redesigned.
The new triple clamps improve handling and correspond to the new suspension setting, while a newly developed plug-in stand with two functions is another new feature of the series.
The engines of all models in the KTM SX series have also been revised. The KTM 250 SX-F and KTM 350 SX-F come with a newly developed DS clutch, while all 4-stroke engines come with a revised transmission and a new engine management system from Keihin with an improved throttle body and an even more powerful electronics package. The KTM 125 SX, the KTM 150 SX and the KTM 250 SX have a revised carburetor and, among other improvements, a new gearbox and a new clutch.
In addition to the improvements in the engines of all models, the flagship KTM 450 SX-F was given a newly developed SOHC cylinder head, a new camshaft with shorter valve timing and an improved surface, as well as a low-friction chain guide with DLC coating.

For Jeffrey Herlings’ title win, KTM has launched a special model.
The top model is also enhanced with a special model. This honors Jeffrey Herlings, who clinched his first MXGP World Championship title in 2018. The KTM 450 SX-F Herlings Replica is only available in a limited edition. The first models are expected to arrive at dealerships at the end of January 2019.
This motorcycle, modeled on the factory bike, is equipped with numerous highlights compared to the series model, for example with a slip-on exhaust system from Akrapovic, a factory clutch cover from Hinson and a fuel tank with a milled cover. There are also factory rims with anodized hubs, a factory triple clamp, an engine guard made of composite material, a factory seat with the Selle Dalla Valle logo, a front brake disc protector, a factory starter for the fork and an orange anodized sprocket. This 4-speed model is also equipped with special Red Bull KTM graphics with Herlings ‘Design and an orange-colored frame in the factory look. The price for the special model is 11,095 euros plus additional costs.
There are prices for the normal crossers.
