Husqvarna 701 Enduro / LR, 701 Supermoto (2020)
From now on from 10,395 euros
The Husqvarna 701 Enduro will be given a long range version, and all of them – including the 701 Supermoto – will be equipped with the latest assistance systems. Now the prices are known.
For the 2020 model year, Husqvarna will get 7th01 Supermoto and 701 Enduro have the latest driver assistance systems packed on them: cornering ABS, lean angle-dependent traction control, two driving modes and an automatic gearshift are standard. The two predecessors already had an anti-hopping clutch on board.
Two driving modes on board each
Road fashion (mode 1) and supermoto mode (mode 2) are available for the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. In supermoto mode, the traction control should regulate more tolerantly with aggressive throttle hand, so that drifts are possible. In order to reduce the lean angle ABS from Bosch to a minimum – i.e. only on the front wheel and without lean angle detection – you need a dongle for the ABS software, which Husqvarna supplies.
Husqvarna
701 Enduro: The colors remain the same, the arrangement and graphics change. In addition, the frame is blue in the 2020 model year, no longer white.
The 701 Enduro also rolls in road mode (mode 1), mode 2 is called off-road mode. And here, too, you need the copy protection plug (dongle) to limit the cornering ABS to the front wheel and to deactivate the lean angle function for both ABS and traction control. The mode should enable wheel slip and wheelies in the field without impairing performance.
Automatic switch as standard
The automatic gearshift in the 2020 models is intended to ensure extremely fast gear changes through all six levels: with the so-called "Easy Shift", the gears can be continuously charged up or down without having to operate the clutch and without taking your hand off the gas tap. The system uses two sensors, one on the shift arm, which detects movement on the shift lever rod when the driver shifts up. The second sensor detects when the gear is engaged and adapts the engine parameters to enable easy gear changes at any speed and engine load. When downshifting, the system adapts the engine speed to the speed of the lower gear.

701 Supermoto: Here the coloring changes – the Supermoto swaps its blue for gray, the frame changes from white to black.
Both Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro come with the well-known 74 hp single-cylinder engine with 692.7 cm³ displacement, which develops its full power at 8,000 rpm. The maximum torque of 73.5 Nm is now 6,500 rpm (previously 71 Nm at 6,750 rpm). There is still no talk of Euro 5, nor is it necessary yet. Both tall-stilted Husqvarna are available ex works, also suitable for A2, throttled to around 41 hp.
Husqvarna 701 Enduro chassis
The front wheel of the Enduro is guided by a 48 mm WP XPLOR upside-down fork, 250 mm travel is available. The rebound stage can be adjusted on the right of the fork, the compression stage on the left. The WP XPLOR dampens the rear and is also fully adjustable in rebound and compression. Here too, 250 mm of spring travel are available.
The Husqvarna 701 Enduro rolls on a Continental TKC 80 in the dimensions 90 / 90-21 at the front and 140 / 80-18 at the rear. The built-in Brembo brakes consist of a two-piston floating caliper and a 300 mm disc at the front and a single-piston caliper with a 240 mm disc at the rear. The prices for the 701 Enduro start at 10,395 euros.
Husqvarna 701 Supermoto chassis
On the Supermoto, the Brembo system consists of a 4-piston brake caliper and a 320 mm disc at the front and a single-piston caliper with a 240 mm disc at the rear. It is equipped with Continental ContiAttack SM Evo tires in the dimensions 120/70 at the front and 160/60 at the rear. The Supermoto has a WP APEX upside-down fork with 215 mm suspension travel at the front and a WP APEX suspension strut with 240 mm travel at the rear – both fully adjustable in rebound and compression. In terms of price, the Supermoto is on par with the Enduro variant. Here, too, it starts at 10,395 euros.
Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR (Long Range)
Husqvarna
701 Enduro LR: LR stands for Long Range. In addition to the 13-liter tank in the rear, the LR is attached to the front to create space for an additional 12 liters of fuel.
In addition to the 13-liter fuel tank at the rear, the Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR (Long Range) is also equipped with an additional front tank that holds 12 liters of petrol and thus increases the tank volume to a total of 25 liters. This should allow a range of at least 500 kilometers, according to Husqvarna. The fuel supply can be selected while driving using a switch on the handlebar, as each tank has a separate fuel pump. The front tank also has an additional reserve indicator. Both the front and the rear tank can be unlocked with the ignition key. The 701 LR will be available from March 2020 at prices from 11,395 euros. The surcharge compared to the normal 701 is 1,000 euros.
