Ducati Panigale V2 (2020)
New paintwork from July 2020
Ducati has given its superbike two-cylinder model some updates for the 2020 model year. With the same engine and new name, the V2 program is and remains, optically it moves closer to the Panigale V4. From July 2020, the super sports car will also be available in a new paint job.
Update: Panigale V2 in new livery from July 2020
Ducati has given the Panigale V2 a new paint job called "White Rosso". The base coat is kept white. In addition, red color elements can be seen in some places on the bike. The Panigale V2 will be available from dealers in the new livery from July 2020. Cost: From 17,830 euros.
First presentation at EICMA 2019
Not the lettering anymore "959 Panigale", rather "Panigale V2" now adorns the cladding of the Italian two-cylinder. The Superquadro engine is of course retained and is now even more in the spotlight thanks to the new model name. Improved electronics, a more comfortable seat and the suspension set-up promise more safety on the racetrack and more comfort on the road. In addition, the single-sided swing arm and a new exhaust system make you look up at the Panigale V4 and shout: I’m a great superbike too!

Single-sided swing arm, extremely compact rear silencer – the V2 is optically closer to the V4.
More power, more electronics for the V2
Ducati’s Superquadro twin-cylinder is now Euro 5 compliant and with the same 955 cm³ produces at least five hp and two Newton meters more than the previous engine: 155 hp at 10,750 revolutions per minute and 104 Nm at 9,000 are now on the list. In addition, realigned, larger injection nozzles and improved intake ducts have been installed.
The electronics also got a look: Ducati’s cornering ABS (Cornering EVO) is now on board as standard, the Quickshifter now also for downshifting, as well as traction control (EVO 2), wheelie control and engine brake control. Like the assistance systems, the three profiles Race, Sport and Street can be selected and set using the new 4.3 inch TFT display.

Single swing arm and new exhaust
The right side of the super sports car reveals the essential, visible changes: A significantly more compact exhaust system with under-engine silencers and a single tailpipe. As with the big V4 sister, the view is now free of the rear wheel, which is only held on the left by the single-arm aluminum swing arm. The freshly designed rims come as standard with the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tires and of course in black, while the cladding traditionally contrasts in Ducati red.
Like its predecessor, the Panigale V2 in the 2020 model year comes with the fully adjustable BPF Showa fork and 120 mm front travel, as well as the fully adjustable Sachs damper and 130 mm rear travel. The front brake also remains the same: Monobloc M 4.32 4-piston fixed calipers from Brembo.

Large air inlets and eyebrow headlights define a new snout of the V2-Duc.
Compact design, clear lines
The two-cylinder model has always been significantly more compact than the Panigale V4. The single-sided swing arm and the more discreet exhaust system reinforce this effect. The two large air inlets dominate the front, the upper edge of which is lined with daytime running lights. As narrow as eyebrows, they give the snout an aggressive look.
The red Ducati Panigale V2 is currently available for 17,540 euros.
Conclusion
The Panigale V2 only contains detailed changes in the engine, but the new name makes a statement to upgrade the two-cylinder engine: If V4 can be called V4, V2 can also be called V2. The single-sided swing arm and a compact exhaust system point strongly towards the racetrack, while the improved seat and new assistance systems are intended to ensure comfort and safety on the road.
