Triumph Sprint 900 fished from the slide archive
Triumphs sports tourer from the 90s
The Triumph Sprint 900 was Triumph’s first motorcycle from the sports touring segment in 1993. Two years later, the British made some optical adjustments to the Sprint 900. Below you will find the driving report from PS 3/95, the most beautiful pictures from the slide archive and the comparison test of the Sprint 900 and the Yamaha XJ 900 S as a chargeable PDF download.
OThe Triumph Sprint 900 is starting the new season with a fresh look. A stylish rear section, matt chrome-plated silencers and new colors make the semi-wired Triumph an eye-catcher. The “Nightshade Purple” of our test machine looks really great.

High handlebars and relaxed leg posture
For its weight – the factory gives a dry weight of 215 kilograms – the fat Triumph Sprint 900 can be moved around the corner with ease. The best way to describe driving behavior is balanced; the spring elements work comfortably, and the brakes grip very hard.
The 98 hp engine is still a poem in terms of power delivery and smooth running. Even in the lower speed range, the 900 is emphatically powerful; the power increases uniformly with the speed. If the triple is taken sharply, it roars neatly from the three-in-two system. The relaxed seating position on the Triumph Sprint 900, which costs around 19,000 marks, continues to contribute to feeling good. The high handlebars compared to the Speed Triple and Daytona and the relaxed leg posture make long distances a pleasure. Anyway, tall people will find it difficult to find another motorcycle on which they can stretch out so comfortably.
