"I think and think back to those moments, I made a shameful gesture … I was not a man! A man would have finished the race and would then have addressed himself to the race directors in an attempt to obtain justice for what had happened in the previous rounds "(with Stefano Manzi, Editor’s note).
"I should not have reacted to the provocations," admits the hot pilot. "The reviews are correct and I understand the resentment towards me. I want to apologize to all who believed in me and to all who were hurt by my action. It came out a horrible picture of me and the sport".
"I’m not like that"
"I’m not like that, those who know me know that!", Assures Fenati. “In my career, I have always been a good driver. Last year I was one of the few who didn’t receive any penalties. I never put anyone else’s life in danger and I have always maintained that there are riders whose driving style is dangerous on the track ".
“Unfortunately, it’s true that I have an impulsive nature. My intention was not to hurt another pilot, but I wanted to make him understand that what he was doing was dangerous and that I too could make mistakes like he had just done! I don’t want to justify myself, I know that my gesture is not justifiable, but I just want to apologize to everyone. Now I will have time to think and to clarify my ideas "…

"The agreement with Fenati has been terminated"
"Romano Fenati’s serious misconduct towards Stefano Manzi in the Moto2 San Marino Grand Prix race will have repercussions for the future, beyond the black flag shown to Fenati and the two-race suspension imposed by the race management ", indicates the Forward Racing team who signed him for next season on MV Agusta. "MV Agusta will not be represented by Fenati in 2019 as the agreement with him has been terminated".
During the Moto2 race in Misano, the Marinelli Snipers rider had gone berserk after a collision with Stefano Manzi who took him off the track. "After this first contact I passed him, then he slowed me down and pulled me out a second time," Fenati explained yesterday when he learned that he was suspended for two races. "I’m not saying it’s an excuse, but it has to be taken into account because drivers who ride without caring about others ruin races and that’s not correct".
