The 2017 24 Heures Motos du Mans will inaugurate a new Anthony Delhalle trophy in memory of the tragically deceased SERT rider.

On the initiative of Eurosport Events, promoter of the endurance world championship, an "Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit" trophy will be awarded from the 24H Motos then on all the events to a driver or a team author of a particular action.

"The trophy will crown a pilot or a team, amateur or official, noticed by a strong action during the race: a recovery, a motorcycle repair, an aid to another competitor, a collective or individual achievement", explains François Ribeiro, director of Eurosport Events which wanted to pay "a strong and lasting tribute to Anthony Delhalle".

"This honorary award will be awarded by a jury for each event of the FIM EWC championship in order to keep alive for a long time on the circuits, the sportsmanship and character of a great driver like Anthony Delhalle", continues the promoter inspired by the "Colin McRae ERC Flat Out Trophy" in the European Rally Championship, created to pay tribute to the world rally champion.

Jessie Delhalle, Anthony’s wife, will personally present the first "Anthony Delhalle EWC Spirit Trophy" on Sunday April 16 at the finish of the 24 Heures Motos.
