Sepang by night
This new race will take place on December 7, which, according to the same "GOs", "will mark an important stage and the opening of a new era for the FIM EWC World Endurance Championship".
This new event will cleverly sit between the two French 24-hour races at Castellet (Bol d’Or, mid-September) then at Le Mans (end of April), at a time when motorsport traditionally goes into hibernation. It will also improve – a little – the balance between European and Asian teams…
"Built on the Suzuka 8 Hours format with a Superpole Top10 Trial and a finish judged at night," says the organization, "the Sepang 8 Hours will also be the first qualifying round for all teams in South East Asia and Japanese wishing to participate in the Suzuka 8 Hours ".
"This new round in Malaysia will thus put on track the best Asian teams who wish to qualify for Suzuka and the permanent teams in FIM EWC who will be invited to Sepang". The latter will thus make the eighties: in Malaysia, Slovakia, Germany and Japan !
