Double anniversary at Moto Guzzi Open House 2017
The second weekend of September will be the Grand Prix of Misano – Forza Rossi, Dovi and Ducati! -, but also that of the Moto Guzzi open house. And this year, the Mandello del Lario factory welcomes its customers to celebrate two birthdays…
Magnificent region, photogenic (and motogenic!) Roads, idyllic weather, mythical motorcycles, unique factory visit, euphoric customers, rave leaders, meeting at the store … The Moto Guzzi open days will take place again on the second September weekend, from Friday 8 to Sunday 10.
The Eagle of Mandello del Lario brings together enthusiasts eager to share their common "pazionne" at Via Parodi 57, on the shores of Lake Como: this is where the motorcycle factory and museum are located. Guzzi, and that lovers of beautiful and / or fat Italians meet.
This meeting, instituted in 2001 with the first Giornata Mondiale Guzzi (GMG for close friends), brought together 25,000 participants last year according to the organizers … And nobody expects the figures of the "Polizia" who sees – for once ? – with a good eye this impressive gathering of bikers.
Two Moto Guzzi birthdays: one happy, the other less…
Once again this year, the entire Moto Guzzi range will be made available to visitors for free trials. But the star is already designated: "it is the V7 III, the latest version of the legendary motorcycle which will celebrate its 50th anniversary at the Open House 2017", rejoice the Italians.
"Born in 1967 on the basis of the 90 ° V-twin, the V7 range is a trademark which continues to develop by exploiting its legendary heritage, made of authenticity and passion, but always more turned towards the future in terms of style and innovation ", describes the manufacturer.
Concerts, exhibitions, meetings … The program is once again full, especially as this edition marks a second anniversary, a little sadder: "the 60th anniversary of Moto Guzzi’s withdrawal from competitions". An area today exclusively reserved for Aprilia, the Noale brand which acquired Moto Guzzi in 2000 and has been part of the Piaggio group since 2004…
"Moto Guzzi Open House will be the occasion to commemorate the great epic of an absolutely brilliant racing team and to evoke the prize list obtained by the brand larienne during the glorious period which goes from the Targa Florio of 1921 to the GP of the Nations of Monza, in 1957. During these years, the Aigle Guzzi won among others 15 championship titles at the World Motorcycle Championship and 11 Tourist Trophy ". The opportunity to come out and roar the legendary GP500 V8 engine, or "Otto Cilindri" for example ?
