BMW C Evolution electric scooter test: evolutionary !

Three standing starts gave exactly the same result: the electric takes off from the first meters in front of the thermal, which ends up catching up at around 80 km / h and taking off. Because to preserve autonomy, the electric is limited to about 120 km / h while the thermal can reach and exceed 160…
On our prototypes, the display automatically reset to mph after switching off the ignition, hence the relatively low value displayed on the photo: multiply by 1.61 to obtain the speed in km / h !
Finally, for our little stroll of about forty kilometers without sparing the wringing of the handle, we returned to the fold with 55 to 57% of battery charge displayed on the meter.
Knowing that, according to BMW, one hour of charging would suffice to return to 70% capacity from zero, we say to ourselves that everyday urban trips are within range, provided you have a 220V outlet – or urban electrical outlet – at home … or at work !
Verdict: more than credible
If the first electric scooters showed a certain interest at the economic-energy level, the BMW C Evolution adds a new dimension with performance worthy of a maxi-scooter … maximum speed and range excepted.
With the BMW C Evolution, the performance of an electric scooter is no longer a barrier to purchase. It remains to deal with autonomy … and the purchase price that is assumed to be high !
