Dutch GP 2018 – Rossi (5th): "Dovizioso’s overtaking was not very smart"…

A lot of bitterness for Valentino Rossi, fifth in the 2018 Dutch GP when a podium was well within his reach on this Assen circuit where he signed his last victory last year. But I’m sad because I had the potential for the podium … The problem was that I was unlucky at the start with Lorenzo, who hit the vibrator and lost the front slightly. “During the race, it was very difficult because I was trying to control the degradation of the tires. I had soft rubber at the back and I knew it could be borderline at the end. Two laps from the finish. , I was second behind Marquez and then in the first corner, Andrea tried to pass me … He came in very hard and I had no choice but to rule out ".

“We both lost a lot of time. It was an aggressive attack, but like many others in this race so it’s OK for me. But at this point in the race, it wasn’t necessarily the right strategy: we both had the potential to finish on the podium and we only finished fourth and fifth ".
