MotoGP Court of Appeal ruled in favor of Ducati
Seizure by the Repsol Honda, Suzuki Ecstar, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and Aprilia Racing Team Gresini teams following the use by Ducati of a new part on the swingarm of its motorcycles at the Qatar GP, the court of appeal of MotoGP has just ruled in favor of the Italian manufacturer. Explanations.
While deeming "admissible" the appeals of the four teams, the MotoGP Court of Appeal within the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) considers that the device used by Ducati in Qatar "is not illegal" and therefore cannot "not to prohibit its use on the next races".

The last issue for the complainant teams, who judge this piece "not in accordance with the current regulations because it concerns aerodynamics", is to seize the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland) within five days, in application of article 3.9 of the regulations. Otherwise the (victory of and) will be final.
"Time and money"
"Ducati is proud of its Italian engineers and of their ability to innovate," said Claudio Domenicali, tackling "all those who last week accused us of cheating. Hopefully now they shut up and try to beat us on the track"…
It is "however a pity that to obtain this decision, we had to commit time and money with our lawyers, while revealing to our competitors our knowledge of tire cooling", regrets the big boss of Ducati.
For his part, Luigi Dall’Igna recalls that he was "convinced to be in full compliance with the technical regulations": the director of the Ducati Corse competition department was therefore "confident about the decision taken by the Court of Appeal of the FIM ", but he welcomes it because it" reinforces the conformity of our efforts ".
