2:00 p.m. – Suzuki n ° 1 manages its lead
On the way to a new world championship title one hour from the end, the Suzuki n ° 1 manages its 14 laps ahead of the Yamaha n ° 7 of Austria Racing while the Kawasaki n ° 111, virtually on the 3rd step of the podium, also play it safe.
After the immense disappointment of the whole GMT team, the atmosphere of this 70th Bol d’Or is as heavy as the sky of Magny-Cours … But the race continues !
Suzuki n ° 72 stopped at 12:42 pm: the Junior team Le Mans Sud decided to switch to slick tires. Same decision for the No Limits RT Moto Virus Suzuki n ° 44 because even if the sun still seems quite far behind the cloudy layer of the Nivernais sky, the track does not show any real traces of humidity..
Position frozen for Suzuki n ° 1 in this 22nd hour of racing which saw the circuit dry. Following the abandonment of GMT, it is the Yamaha n ° 7 which finds itself in second place ahead of the Kawasaki n ° 111. A podium of three brands slowly emerges as the No.55 Honda returned to 5th place behind the No.72 Junior Team Suzuki.
Kawasaki n ° 111 stopped for a choice of slick tires. A few checks and routine maintenance operations later, the official Kawasaki France machine takes to the track to approach this end of the race calmly in third place overall….
Yvan Silva and Steeve Plater double the stints because of a big fatigue of Patrick Piot, the third Kawasaki rider.
This end of the race is also looking good for the Yamaha n ° 33 of Decibels Endurance, which climbs another place and occupies the 7th place overall, ten laps behind the Suzuki n ° 72. The third place of Stocksports is now occupied by Aprilia n ° 79 of the Franco-Italian team Aprilia Motociclismo Test Team.
In Blockbuster, the Kawasaki n ° 2 leads the way with two laps ahead of the Suzuki n ° 18 of the Firemen, itself followed by one lap by the Suzuki n ° 44.
Finally in Superstock, the Yamaha n ° 33 can congratulate itself with a very fine second place 11 laps behind the Suzuki n ° 72 – almost untouchable for 24 hours – while the Aprilia n ° 9, 11 laps behind the friendly team Bordeaux, retains the third virtual step of the podium in the category with two laps ahead of the Suzuki # 71 of Team V2.
