Former journalist at Europe 1 then director of communications at Europcar and Siemens, Eric de Riedmatten, 43, has just been appointed communications director of BMW France (cars and motorcycles) as of July 1, 2007, replacing Octave Manset.

Following the retirement of Octave Manset, Eric de Riedmatten will take charge of communications for BMW France (cars and motorcycles) from July 1, 2007. Under the responsibility of Nicolas Wertans, Chairman of the BMW Management Board Group France, Eric de Riedmatten also takes charge of financial communication.

Aged 43, Eric de Riedmatten began his career at Europe 1 in 1984 where he held various positions: economic journalist in charge of automotive issues and business life, he was notably one of the regular presenters of the program "Decideurs", then host of stock market chronicles.

In 1998, still on Europe 1, he launched the program "Mediator" in order to "help victims of the administration". At the same time, he collaborates with Figaro Magazine and to French Life Groupe Expansion, where he publishes many portraits of business leaders.

Ten years later, in June 1998, he joined the corporate communications sector, becoming communications director at Europcar with an international coordination mission. He launched the environment observatory, contributed to the electric vehicle rental project and created a club of decision-makers called "Les rendez-vous Europcar".

On March 1, 2000, Eric de Riedmatten joined Siemens as the group’s communications director in France. He created the "Siemens France Foundation" and the "Innovation Prize".

In 2005, he published a work entitled "21st century, the innovations that will change our lives", where he describes the future great technological advances that await us until 2100:"live up to 120 years thanks to DHEA, watch television on a screen as thin as paper and light up without the slightest electric wire, benefit from an artificial blood transfusion, sleep with the windows open without noise thanks to the inverters of frequency, refuel with liquid hydrogen fuel, have a brain transplant to increase knowledge", etc.

"Eric de Riedmatten, with the diversity and breadth of his experience, will focus on developing and promoting the means of communication adapted to the new challenges of the group’s brands", rejoices BMW in a press release.
