As expected yesterday (read), BMW Motorrad operates a "strategic refocusing" by selling Husqvarna to Pierer Industrie AG from Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM (photo).
BMW thus intends to operate "a strategic refocusing of its BMW Motorrad business sector" because "given the changes in the motorcycle markets, demographic development and increasing ecological requirements", the German group wants to focus "on the extension and the resources of the BMW Motorrad brand ".
BMW Motorrad therefore intends to "expand its product offering in order to open up future growth potential", which will include "the field of urban mobility and electromobility". In short: the city motorcycle has more of a future than the field motorcycle !
A sales contract for the acquisition of Husqvarna Motorcycles was therefore signed with the company Pierer Industrie AG (Austria) ", which will come into force" as soon as the authorizations required by the anti-trust legislation have been granted ".
And naturally, "the two companies have agreed to keep silent on the sale price." More information to follow on MNC: stay connected !
