Bimota receives official Kawasaki backing and unveils Tesi H2
Kawasaki Motors Europe is doubly participating in the rebirth of Bimota, the famous Italian motorcycle brand: financially as the rumor announced, but also technologically as we could see at the EICMA show in Milan with the new Tesi H2… Explanations.
MV Agusta, Cagiva, Benelli, Moto Morini, Paton, SWM, FB Mondial, Laverda, Malaguti, Italjet, Lambreta but also Ducati, Aprilia, Gilera or Moto Guzzi … Italian motorcycle brands have such tortuous, steep and stunning as the Mugello route !
Bimota is certainly no exception: created in 1966 by Messrs Bianchi, Morri and Tamburini (Bi-Mo-Ta!), The company produced its first motorcycle in 1973 and was successful in competition at the beginning of the 80s (title in GP350 then in TTF1, the ancestor of the Superbike).
But the Italian brand quickly collapsed following the departure of Tamburini from Cagiva / Ducati … In the 90s, the excessive originality of the Tesi front axle and the commercial failure of the V-Due (500 cc 2-stroke competition. .. and off road!) plunge Bimota into bankruptcy.

At the dawn of the new millennium, the Rimini factory is therefore forced to shut down … or rather hide it under the flowerpot next to it! Because Roberto Commini (giant of the pharmaceutical industry) switched on again in 2003, without ever succeeding in really restarting the machine.
On the handlebars since 2013 – and from Switzerland – Marco Chiancianesi and Daniele Longoni have tried to relaunch the brand by entering it in World Superbike. Unfortunately, despite good performance on the track with its BB3, the small manufacturer could not complete its first 2014 season, switching off its engine again – from S1000RR at the time..

Five years later, Bimota is – again – back with a new concept: a Tesi H2 which, as its name suggests, consists of a very original "in-house" cycle part because it has a double swing arm (front and rear). , hence the two shock absorbers!) and a Kawasaki powertrain very inflated because supercharged…
Tesi H2: the best of Italy and Japan ?
Cleverly combining transalpine design and originality on the one hand, Japanese performance and reliability on the other, this bike is unlike any other. "Fortunately", will think both its detractors put off by the monstrous appearance of the two-wheeled beast … and its potential buyers eager to own a unique machine or almost.
Very successful (it runs, see the video below!), The "concept" of Tesi H2 will give birth to a commercial model that we imagine assembled carefully … and easily since a large part of the components already exist: besides the 4-cylinder compressed, the future Bimota for example chips the Ninja H2 its instrumentation and its controls. Convenient !
In addition to the luxurious fittings (Ohlins and Brembo), the beautiful Italian-Japanese will undoubtedly receive a trim and fins in – real – carbon, as well as forged rims (Marchesini, "per favore"?). What legitimizes a probably stratospheric tariff, like those of the recent "Serie Oro" that MV Agusta would have sold in no time…
The Tesi H2 unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan is the result of an operation carried out with the greatest discretion last spring: on April 16, 2019, Kawasaki Motors Europe and Bimota (SA) joined forces to create the company "Italian Motorcycle Investment" which will take over the name of Bimota (SPA) upon receipt of Italian funds.

The rumor of "takeover" was therefore well founded, but inaccurate since the Japanese only enter 49.9% in the capital of the new company, leaving the controls to Marco Chiancianesi, the current leader … " Athlete, manager, philanthropist, entrepreneur, musician and more ", he announces on his !
The Italian businessman and the Akashi firm share ambitious goals: "Italian Motorcycle Investment plans to produce and sell 200 Bimota in 2020" … Good deals to follow? Stay connected !
