What do you think of your new colors ?

Jorge Lorenzo : I like them! My favorite colors have always been white, red and black and now I can add orange. These are colors that represent success, with numerous victories and numerous world championships over the past 25 years. I am very proud to belong to this family and to be able to help make the team even stronger.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Repsol Honda team? ?

J. L. : I think this is probably the best performing team in history. They have the most wins and titles. To compare them to a football team, it would be a Barça or a Real Madrid. There is no other team with more titles and more importance in the world than this one.

What were your first impressions testing your new motorcycle ?

J. L. : Last year I rode a radically different motorcycle, very big and very tall. Maybe a little too big for me. The Honda suits me better in terms of dimensions. It’s more compact, smaller and lower, and I can take more of an angle. I felt more comfortable entering turns because the closer to the ground, the more confident you are. The first impression was positive and I saw a lot of potential.

When you got off the Honda for the first time, you had a big smile on your face. What did you think when you got into the box ?

J. L. : In such moments, the expression on my face speaks for itself! It was very exciting, new and enjoyable.

What changes have been made between the Valencia and Jerez tests ?

J. L. : What impressed me the most was the responsiveness of the Repsol Honda team and their ability to respond to my requests. I was pretty clear, Honda wrote down all of my information and after a few days everything was ready. We even had a gas tank that met my expectations !

You said you were going to learn from Marc Marquez, but also that he would learn from you. What do you have to bring each other ?

J. L. : All pilots have their strengths and weaknesses, including Marc. I will try to learn from his strength and I guess he will try to learn from mine. We will stimulate ourselves. I would like to beat him and he will want to beat me, which always makes the team grow and helps provide further technical progress on the bike..

The Repsol Honda team is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and Repsol its 50th anniversary of sports sponsorship. What does this mean to you ?

J. L. : 25 years is a long time! When Repsol started sponsoring the Honda team in 1995, it was when I started watching motorcycle races on TV. I remember the struggles between Harada and my idol Max Biaggi in 250 cc, but also the 500 cc clashes between Criville and Doohan, when Rossi signed for Repsol Honda and Nicky Hayden won the world championship in 2006. C ‘ is a very successful team, with many victories and many world titles. Now, I will have the honor and pleasure of being a part of it! 50 years is extremely long. I think Ángel Nieto was one of the first sportsmen sponsored by Repsol. It was the first in Spain and it was he who propelled the sport in this country.

How do you see the official presentation of the team, which will take place on January 23 in Madrid? ?

J. L. : The presentation will be a very special moment for me. I think that generates a lot of expectations, because together we have twelve world championships and many victories. Above all, there is a lot of talent and speed within the most successful team in history. The expectation and optimism are high and we will have fun on this day !
