Jean-Luc L’Hermine: ABS will allow us to boost our sales
With 2,810 registrations, Kymco posted a drop of -16.5% on the French market. Jean-Luc L’Hermine, Kymco Lux sales director, draws up the brand’s 2013 report for Site and reveals its objectives for 2014. Interview.
Site: What do you think of the general evolution of the French motorcycle market in 2013? ?
Jean-Luc L’Hermine, Kymco Lux sales director : Unfortunately, the finding is with a negative impact on our common business.
MNC: What is your assessment of your year in 125, and in large cubes? ?
J.-L. L. : The results are mixed. Our new 2013 model could give us hope for better results.
MNC: Are you fully satisfied with the results of your best sales: K-XCT 125, Xciting 400 ?
J.-L. L. : We are fully satisfied with the results of the, a little less so for the K-XCT 125 i. The arrival of ABS versions will allow us to improve and boost our sales.
MNC: In comparison, the performance of your K-PW 125 or Myroad 700 seems to be lower. How do you explain it ?
J.-L. L. : We had no particular ambitions for them, we are generally satisfied with their results. The rest clearly a failure.
MNC: How has the second-hand market behaved? How important was this year to your network ?
J.-L. L. : The second-hand market is growing, which allows dealers to diversify their offer and thus develop turnover.
MNC: In your opinion, did your new products for 2013 pass their first year? ?
J.-L. L. : Yes we are satisfied. We are now very excited to have ABS on our K-XCT 125 i and Xciting 400 i models.
MNC: What was the good surprise 2013 ?
J.-L. L. : We were impressed by our ability to adapt for one more year in this market particularly impacted by the crisis.
MNC: What was the worst ?
J.-L. L. : The one that continues to crumble.
MNC: In your opinion, what was the highlight of 2013 in the world of two-wheelers? ?
J.-L. L. : The return of, with the effervescence of for all the brands that should boost the market this year.
MNC: How were your 2014 novelties received by your network and by all bikers ?
J.-L. L. : They are very satisfied with the arrival of the K-XCT 125 i ABS, the Agility 125 City 16+ and the Xciting 400 i ABS. They are impatiently preparing their showrooms and are delighted with the dynamism of our brand.
MNC: What are your good resolutions for 2014 ?
J.-L. L. : Perseverance and the contribution of a strong dynamic to our network.
MNC: What are your major events in 2014 ?
J.-L. L. : We are preparing our launches and their distribution in the network.
MNC: To conclude, what Kymco Lux ordered from Santa Claus this year ?
J.-L. L. : Market growth and better weather.
