Down 7.1% over the year as a whole, registrations of 125 scooters and small motorcycles plunged from 4,391 to 3,623 between and October 2017! Compared to, the comparison is less catastrophic since two hundred registrations are missing, i.e. a decline limited to -4.8%.

In the 125 cc, the results of the brands were particularly heterogeneous last month: on the monthly podium alone, the number one Honda accelerated, Yamaha slowed down and Piaggio pounded … Behind, Peugeot resisted, Kymco and Sym have battled, Mash shone and MBK continued to decline.

Among the big cubes, the month of October 2017 was clearly more solid: the "more than 125 cc" almost equaled their score of the previous month (7872 against) and exploded that reached in: + 23.8% !

This remarkable increase is entirely generated by the Top 5 manufacturers in France: Honda (number two in this sector) is growing the most, followed by number one Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW and Harley-Davidson. The following five brands and the others lose in market share, even in volume.

It should be noted that the weather was very good for business: temperatures were above normal over the whole of France, the sunshine was generally excess and the precipitation was particularly low, even locally zero. !

MNC also notes that the Toussaint school holidays were later this year: biker dads – and biker moms! – had a little more time to go to the dealership and fall for a new model of – large – motorcycle or – maxi – scooter…
