Mercato Moto GP: Jonas Folger on the Yamaha Tech3 in 2017

Jonas Folger will move from Moto2 to MotoGP in 2017 as part of the Yamaha Tech3 satellite team, with which he signed a one-year contract with the option of renewal. The young German rider – on the podium 16 times since his Grand Prix debut in 2008, including four times on the top step – will recover Bradley Smith’s M1, leaving for KTM…

Jonas Folger will switch from Moto2 to MotoGP in 2017 as part of the Yamaha Tech3 satellite team, with which he signed a one-year contract with the option of renewal. The young German rider – on the podium 16 times since his Grand Prix debut in 2008, including four times on the top step – will recover next year’s M1. 

"I am delighted with this news and I still can not believe it!", Rejoices the native of Muhldorf, in Bavaria: "I have been racing in the world championship for several years and joining the premier class is a dream which is happening. I would like to thank all the sponsors who have supported me over the years. It is an honor to live this stage with Yamaha, Herve Poncharal and the Tech3 team, who have a long history in the paddock ".
