Stephane F., Reims (51)
I am from the South-West and I have lived in Reims since 2003. That year, I sympathized with a group of bikers who train me for the GP of Le Mans. I think we could have compared ourselves to the "Joe Bar Team" (at that time, we could still a little) … On the road to the GP, a lone rider joined the group. Having easy contact, I therefore sympathize with him during our frequent wee stops and bottles for my old Ducat 750 SS from 1991 (this kind of babies, they must be pampered because they are fragile at that age!). In short, once arrived at Le Mans, this guy told me that I had been cool to have integrated him into the gang (the poor man, he did not know yet with whom he had stuck … not the calmest in any case). He told me that he was going to thank me and therefore asked me to follow him on the circuit. What was my surprise when we arrived at the paddocks and saw that he knew the father of our national Olivier Jacque! Which earned us a VIP pass for me and my new friend … And there I was in a dream come true: the kingdom of teams, pilots, GP motorcycles … And above all, I was able to approach the fabulous Desmocedici which turned for the first year! Well, I’m going to stop at the end of this straight line because after the bend the story continues but we are only entitled to a few ten lines that I have already largely exceeded … Shouldn’t I monopolize the whole site anyway

Jean-Philippe B., Arras (62)
My best GP memory is linked to Olivier Jacque from the Tech 3 Yamaha team, when he was speed world champion in 250, fourth French world champion after Christian Sarron (250), Jean-Louis Tournadre (350) and Patrick Pons (750). On the eve of the Australian GP, three men are vying for the victory: Olivier Jacque 254 points, Nakano 252 and Katoh 243 … It is at the edge of the finish line that everything takes shape: Olivier Jacque glues Nakano and dislodges him to pass him just in front of the line! Olivier Jacque is world champion for 14 thousandths of a second … A magnificent memory that made me pass my motorcycle license shortly after !

Philippe R., Rosheim (67)
In 1992, it’s been a few years since I was a biker and I followed the Moto Grands Prix assiduously … on TV. That year, my friends and I took the road to a Grand Prix for the first time: Magny-Cours! At the stroke of noon on Saturday, arrived at the campsite allocated to the spectators, we park the motorcycles and start putting up the tents when, all of a sudden, a shrill sound of 2-stroke is heard beyond the hiding mound. the track … to the stars. I can’t hold on anymore! I drop the tent setup and rush with my friends to the top of this mound. At the top of the hill, we discover the track and the so-called Adelaide bend, the tightest on the circuit after a long, almost straight line. And now, the noise returns and a red surface-to-surface missile appears … Just enough time to see the n ° 1 on its fairing during trapper braking to recognize Wayne Rainey! And there, freeze frame: I am no longer in front of my teloche, it exists, it is there, in front of me! Imagine your child seeing Santa Claus, yes the real Santa Claus, and you will understand my emotion. I was stuck, and like a kid, I stood there watching all these pilots tumble down the track. That moment, I’ll never forget, it’s etched forever in a corner of my brain. Rare are the moments like these when you touch a world far from your daily reality. You have to savor them and try to approach them as often as possible…

Didier J., Argenteuil (95)
If I remember correctly, it was the GP of Spa Francorchamps in 1981. There were the biggest: Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Marco Lucchinelli … I was on the far left, shortly after the starting line: an incredible race between Kenny Roberts and Marco Lucchinelli! Then the weather changed, the rain fell, irreparably changing the condition of the runway. Obviously, the pilots had ridden on slicks: I have never seen such impressive crossings, wheel to wheel, at speeds that should have come close to 160/180 km / h. Kenny Roberts, despite a problem with the exhaust, clung like a demon to Lucchinelli’s wheel. This GP with my favorite driver (Kenny) was so intense that it remained THE reference in my eyes !

Thierry M., Mars-sur-Allier (58)
My best memory was the French GP 250 in 2005. An incredible race between Randy and Pedrosa: Randy takes the lead ahead of Lorenzo and Stoner. Pedrosa takes second place in turn to hang Randy’s wheel which moves away in the Chapel to benefit Pedrosa who takes the lead … Not for long: Randy takes the lead of the GP and resists the attacks of Pedrosa who comes back on him each time you brake. Pedrosa, on the verge of colliding with Randy, the fate of the track to return to the Blue Esses! Randy stalls from behind, deviates from the trajectory and Pedrosa immediately takes the opportunity to infiltrate and win the GP of France in front of Randy … What a disappointment we had that day! What a beautiful GP, thank you Randy you made us vibrate !

Guy A., La Jumellière (49)
My best GP memory is the first one I saw in 1972 or 1973 at Charade. I was 15 years old and I had done 650 km with my BB Peugeot 3 speeds, all alone because no one had been crazy enough to follow me! It was a great moment for me: seeing and being able to approach all the great riders of the time, the sound of Ago’s MV in the mountains, Saarinen and the brand new Yamaha 4, the atmosphere in the park, the Continental Circus with all the private pilots ready to sacrifice everything for their passion … The good old days! We could go hunt for a Gauloise in Barry Sheene … What beautiful memories that leave me with a lot of emotions…

The action takes place on the road, seen from a helicopter in traveling, departure in column of 22 motivated bikers, the gouache, the polished leathers, the Gibs smile on their lips, in front of the girls who watch them leave, taken aback between fear and envy. .. Kilometer 22, Jerem’s Ducat ‘which explodes its front tire, emergency braking, skidding, results of three bicycles on land including two, Hornet and GSR, which will not set off again … Jerem has more luck and will join us in Orleans … Flashback to the 86th kilometer with this crazy Mercedes 4×4 that thought it could overtake the whole column and rush back into the middle, facing a bus arriving in front! Pan! Result: two bikes in the fields, three on the ground. None will leave! The film takes about 50 terminals later when a violent storm surprises the band of gay men in the open countryside … Hurry to find a shelter, roundabout taken really too hard and it is downright five bikes which make a straight ahead to avoid Manu who had slipped on a plate of oil. The six bikes are out! We are only at the 165th kilometer out of 480 and it is 9.45 am! The lull lasts a good hour … Taken by a desire and believing himself alone in front, Marv dislocates while Seb overtook him … on the right! Attempt to avoid both, identical choice, skate, in the end four bikes to the mat and great anger from Marv who had just released his brand new Z750 … and who will not leave, like the other three moreover ! We remain at this moment four on the track to observe each other surely in the head the same idea: "what confusion awaits us" … End sequence against the background of parking lots filled with motorcycles, the song of V4s in the countryside, effervescence of stands, clamors from the public: once again King Rossi has won. What an eventful weekend … but for whom? End credits and a hello to the friends who stayed behind on the way to their dreams … The following year, they went to the Grand Prix and everything went smooth! They were in the car !

Patrick K., Saint-Avold (57)
Our first GP, August 29, 1976 at the Nurburgring: what a memory! Saturday, early afternoon, I was sitting on my 125 GT discussing with my mate what we could do well today. I then remembered having read in my brother’s magazine that there was this GP. We talked about it for 5 minutes and my friend said to me: "come on, let’s go!" So neither one nor two, we left without even taking a tent or backpack, like two young unconscious. After taking the small roads, here we are. We were able to see a few tests, then we wandered around before nightfall made us realize that we had nothing planned to sleep … Especially since the rain was coming to join our beginning of ordeal … We have spent the night under the trees trying to warm us with the fire of the people who went to bed. I didn’t sleep a night, while my mate fell asleep on the wet floor. The day finally broke and the rain stopped. We walked towards the stands, under the astonished eyes of people seeing the state of my buddy stained with mud. But we were happy to be there and that night was already forgotten. The races started with the 50cc and I got tired because I had to wait more than 10 minutes to see them again pass on this circuit of more than 22 km. On the starting grid of the 350, I was surprised to hear a noise of 4-strokes because there was none on the program. At the start of the race, our hairs stood on end as Ago passed the MV, but he had to give up due to engine failure. At the start of the 500s, the effect was even stronger and we could hear this magical noise until Ago’s victory ahead of Lucchi and Henen. For our first GP, we therefore had the chance to see a 4-stroke engine win for the last time before the return of MotoGP. What an unforgettable memory !

May 2008 at the GP of France I was strolling quietly in the aisles in search of who knows what (any accessory for my old KLR 650 from 1986, nice jacket, new boots …), when suddenly I saw a magnificent helmet -70% replica! There it is, for sure, I love it! First, I ask the seller to see it more closely, then I try it immediately. It is made for me, real tailor-made! OK, I start: "how much sir?" – "149 euros" – "Perfect, I buy!" Arrived at the cash … no wallet in my pocket! No more entry ticket either, and therefore impossible to exit … GLOUPSSS. Terrorized, scared, no more papers, no more money … A lost one. Annoyed, I retrace my steps, looking on the ground, without hope, for my missing property. 1h, 2h, 3h … 9h nonstop walking, my feet smoke. I put my butt on a low wall, thinking of the return impossible to achieve without money for fuel. Nausea takes hold of me when, out of nowhere, a pretty blonde girl says to me "Vincent? Is it you?" – "Yes it’s me, but …" – "No, we don’t know each other, well not yet, but I recognized you on the photo of your ID which was in the wallet that I found on the floor this morning! " Then the pretty young lady hands me my precious. OUF! GP saved, I will finally be able to take advantage of it! For the helmet it was missed, sold in the meantime. On the other hand for the little blonde, in the pocket: almost a year old and still very much in love with each other !

The 2002 French Grand Prix will remain by far the best memory of my life because it was there that I met the Love of my existence and the Woman of my dreams. Indeed, during the evening and the XXL concert, I met the eyes of a goddess! This vision and this flash are still engraved in my heart today, because this light is present in me for my wife, mother of my three children including my future twins or twins, we do not yet know … Thank you biker friends of circuits, because without you my life would be bland !
