XV950 Playa del Ray

Like straight out of a museum, the Playa del Ray brings together the custom and old motorcycle genres with a certain taste, including up to the choice of the biton cream and brown color..

The remarkable transformation work makes the car totally unrecognizable, including its engine casings decorated with transparent elements of the most beautiful effect..

In detail, we can also mention the single-seater bike-style saddle from the last century, the rear part reduced to a wheel washer, the hand-made tank, the 21-inch front wheel grafted onto a semi-rigid fork or the rims with polished edges.

Modern despite its very classic looks, the Spanish creation is adorned with a silent sports Mivv, Ohlins suspensions and Rizoma plates.

Reinterpreted in the cafe-racer spirit, the big Yamaha roadster has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail by Osvaldo Coutinho and Alexandre Santos, the two trainers very inspired by the Portuguese brand it roCKS! Bikes. The whole is covered with a superb color "gold-white-black" evoking certain Yamaha of the 70s / 80s.

Fans of the XJR on which they have already worked on many times – both on the 1200 and 1300 versions – the two Portuguese tuners have spared no effort to achieve something truly original. The LED lights integrated into the rear shell and the custom-made backrest saddle illustrate this desire..

The front axle accommodates a very "beefy" inverted fork from the R1, at the foot of which is installed a complete braking assembly from ISR. Take a look at the 6-piston calipers and 340mm discs! The rear is not left out thanks to Olhins handsets from a range higher than the original ones.

The "cafe-racer" handlebars and frames come from LSL and the 17-inch rims from Kineo, while the digital red LED instrumentation comes from the Motoscope catalog. Apart from some aesthetic artifices such as transparent or aluminum covers, the engine is stock.

MNC however advises you to watch the video below to appreciate the simply magical sound delivered by the almost free silencers that run under the big "4-legs" !

As with every Yard Built project, this Playa del Ray and this CS-06 Dissident can – with a few details – be reproduced by drawing from the Yamaha spare parts catalog or by approaching their creators to acquire a transformed "key in hands". A certain budget is nevertheless to be expected…
