New motorcycle: a neo-retro Yamaha MT-09 for 2016 ?

An MT-09 cafe racer style ?

By revealing the XSR700, Yamaha made it clear that this reinterpreted in neo-retro fashion (round headlight, high handlebars, long tank, unseen saddle and rear frame) would be followed by other achievements as part of its .

As the goal is to draw inspiration from the past to redesign a modern motorcycle, the next step could be the platform of the, the elder of the turbulent MT family..

What is more, by relying on its recent roadster, the Japanese brand would distinguish itself from the preparations already made around its "old" – XJR1300 and SR400 in the lead – via the innumerable .

A little less than two months before the first international motorcycle show (EICMA in Milan, Italy), the arrival of this hypothetical MT-09 "Faster Sons" is already igniting the imaginations, in particular that of the ‘inspired designer .

The Italian let go by unveiling several designs with a more or less pronounced retro look by the grafting of a round headlight, spoked rims, a rear shell with more square shapes, a redesigned silencer – even multiplied by three on the motorbike in the lower right below! – or even a gust of wind. 

All of this is available in multiple decorations, using the color codes of famous pilots: Kenny Roberts, Giacomo Agostini, Steve Baker (the one with the triple exhaust), Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey, Christian Sarron and, more recently, Valentino Rossi !

The designer also revealed his vision of an MT-09 "Endurance" style, equipped with prominent headlights reminiscent of the mythical Honda RCBs with which the duo Leon and Chemarin began the golden age of the winged emblem in endurance racing in the middle of the years. 70. 

For the record, Orbedan Bezzi is not at his first attempt with the MT-09 since he had already tasted a "trail" version last year as well as the interesting cafe racer – below – built around of the chassis and 3-cylinder of the Yamaha roadster last year (read) …
