New Kawasaki KLV 1000
New for 2004, the Kawasaki KLV 1000 will be available in dealerships in April. Result of the merger between Kawasaki and Suzuki, this V-Strom clone marks the arrival of Kawa in the large road trail sector.
With this 996 cm3 V-twin, the result of its merger with Suzuki (read and), Kawasaki is entering the wholesale road trail market..
Directly cloned on the Suzuki DL 1000 V-Strom from which it takes over the engine, the chassis and most of the equipment and finishes, the KLV is distinguished by its unique color (orange).

"The KLV 1000 is indeed part of our merger with Suzuki, which allows us to develop the basis of each brand to be able to compete with our direct competitors.Kawasaki France spokesperson told Moto-Net: "this industrial logic is new in motorcycles, but it has existed for years in the automobile where it no longer shocks anyone !"
In France, the KX 250 F 4-stroke with the Kawa logo was already from the equivalent model at Suzuki, just like the KFX 400 quad or, in custom, the VN 1500 Mean Streak known by Suzuki as the Marauder.
In Japan, Kawasaki also markets several scooters from Suzuki. And conversely, Kawasaki supplied Suzuki with several medium-displacement models (250 cc 4-stroke), which were very popular in Japan..
Soon to be tested on Moto-Net, the KLV 1000 will be available at dealerships "during April"for a price"equivalent to that of V-Strom"(9,990 euros).
