News - Suzuki unveils its first new products for 2010! - Used SUZUKI

The summer of 2009 has just started and Suzuki is already presenting its first new products for 2010! On the program: three new cross bikes (one 250 and two 450) as well as a new custom M800, little brother of the Intruder 1500 and 1800. Presentation !

Presented in October 2007 at the Paris Motor Show, (read), the Suzuki RM-Z 450 was the "first off-road competition motorcycle equipped with electronic fuel injection", welcomes the manufacturer.

Cross…

Two years later, in good "sports" condition, the Suz ‘was reviewed and corrected: "on the program for 2010, more power, more progressive damping and more agility", summarizes Suzuki France.

We note that the larger steering column of 9 mm is now made up of two parts, while the frame is reinforced at the level of the saddle and its lower part but "the thickness of the material has been strategically designed to save weight"reassures Suzuki.

The RM-Z 450 also receives new Showa suspensions: the inverted 47 mm fork is adjustable in compression and rebound while the rear mono shock absorber goes so far as to distinguish between slow and fast compression settings in addition to rebound and rebound. the preload.

The performance of the engine at high speed and the response of the throttle – via new wiring – are naturally improved, but no quantified data is specified, nor the price and the date of availability of the beast and its sisters: the RM-Z 250 and the all-new RMX 450Z !

The "two and a half" in turn goes to Keihin electronic injection: derived from the "battery-less" system fitted to the 450, that of the 250 includes a 43 mm injection body which, when opened wide, allows the single cylinder take 13,500 rpm !

"250 4-stroke riders will benefit from all of Ryan Dungey’s development work by riding the all-new RM-Z 250, the first 250 cc 4-stroke fuel injection", rejoice the yellow devils.

The chassis, the suspensions and even the radiator fins have undergone corrections … "For 2010, in order to comply with competition regulations, the number plates are black. One less thing for pilots focused on winning !", emphasizes Suz ‘.

And the manufacturer is also very proud to announce its return to the Enduro niche thanks to its RMX 450Z: "closely derived from the RM-Z 450, the RMX 450Z is an uncompromising motorcycle !", indicates the Suzuki France team.

"Easy, clean thanks to the injection and powerful, the RMX 450Z is intended above all for experienced pilots who will know how to take advantage of its exceptional performance….", warns Suzuki.

Designed for Enduro, this new Suz ‘sees the maintenance of its air filter facilitated thanks to a cover. It is the same for the engine starts: with the electric starter, they become childish, even if inevitably it is now necessary to reckon with a battery which weighs down the motorcycle a little..

Finally, a small counter provides essential information to the pilot depending on whether he is racing to win – Sport mode with stopwatch, distance traveled, average speed and tire diameter correction – or whether he is riding for fun – Standard mode with speed , hour, two trips and battery voltage.

And custom !

At the same time, Suzuki announces the arrival – when and at what price, we do not know either – of a new version of its Intruder M800 which, according to the officials of the brand, allows "to those who were afraid of the characteristics of the Intruder M1800 to ride a motorcycle with an incomparable look".

Last year, Suz ‘had already released the M1500 version (read). But with a weight substantially identical to the 1800, the famous "inetroudeur" remained effectively inaccessible to light riders … "Returning 78 kg to its big sister, ease and acceleration will be there", now ensures Suzuki France.

The new Intruder M800 takes the features of its predecessors: the characteristic front optic hides behind it a sober but elegant instrumentation – which includes a speedometer graduated up to 200 km / h and a fuel gauge, in particular – and the rear lights are LED.

All that remains is to engrave a "1" in front of the 800 and the deal is done: the cafe terraces and the beautiful quiet roads made for strolling and enjoying the countryside are yours. !
