Triumph factory preparations: Bobber or Scrambler ?
Triumph took advantage of the EICMA to unveil two “homemade” preparations, made on the basis of Bonneville. A competition between these two motorcycles on the web and the winner will be designated at the Birmingham show. So, rather Bobber or Scrambler ?
Competition internally and on the internet
Displayed prominently on the central platform of the Triumph stand at EICMA in Milan, the preparations signed by two teams made up of employees of the Hinckley firm almost eclipse the 2015 novelties of the English manufacturer (read our presentations of,,, and our ) !
For the two "factory" teamsthe challenge was clear", recalls Triumph:"use the talent, know-how, skills and passion existing at Triumph to create two breathtaking Bonneville-based customs". But the contract is fulfilled…
Right side of the ring sits the Bobber with its clean lines, minimalist gear, rigid twin-tube, single-arm frame, Fox Factory parallelogram fork and twin shock absorber, 1969 Bonneville tank, and engine. with reversed cylinders (!).
On the left side, the Scrambler which, according to the general manager of Triumph France (see our) would weigh 55 kg less than the initial Bonneville and whose fully prepared engine – in Daytona 675 sauce – would develop close to 100 horsepower !
Of course, there is no question of opposing these two machines dynamically: the battle between them is entirely virtual! Triumph indeed offers bikers around the world to vote for one or the other of the achievements via its official Facebook page..
The outcome of the match will be revealed on November 26 at Birmingham Motorcycle Live. For Mister Mars, this challenge within Hinkley’s firm calls for another: "The challenge will be to bring some of his innovative ideas to the series … in a few years"…
