New Kymco scooters 2016

Kymco X-Town 125/300

The new X-Town stands out from other scooters from the Taiwanese brand by its more "Sport Touring" style. Like the Downtown, it is available in 125 and 300 cc versions, both of which comply with Euro4 standards..

It comes standard with an ABS system – optional on the Downtown – and offers a 25mm lower seat base, as well as a described riding position "More comfortable".

Well equipped, the X-Town accepts two full-face helmets and some effects in its trunk. It has two glove boxes – one with a 12V socket – and on-board instrumentation provided.

While the 125 cc has an engine similar to that of the Downtown 125, the X-Town 300 receives a specific 276 cc engine with a 2-valve cylinder head developing 23.2 hp at 8000 rpm (30 hp at 7750 for the Downtown 350).

The continuous transmission by variator (CVT) and the cooling system of this engine – taken from the old Dink Street 300 – would also be improved. The sale price of these new models should be around that of the current Downtown, or nearly € 4,500 for the 125 and less than € 5,000 for the 300.

Kymco new G-Dink 300i ABS

Launched in 2012, the G-Dink 300 gets a welcome facelift for 2016. The changes mainly concern the front end, now with a dual-headlight and a more generous windshield. LED bars reinforce the style of the machine, which retains its practical flat floor but loses its small standard passenger backrest…

The engine complies with Euro 4 – mandatory on all new 2016 models – thanks to optimized injection, while the chassis is reinforced at several points to improve line stability and heading accuracy on angle.

On a practical level, we appreciate the presence of a 12V socket on the apron in addition to that of a USB socket in the storage compartment, or that of a bag holder and relevant on-board instrumentation.

Braking is entrusted to a Bosch 9.1M ABS associated with good diameter discs and double piston calipers. The price of this 2016 vintage should remain close to that of the current model, sold for € 3,499.

Kymco Downtown 350i ABS Deep Blue

The spearhead of the Kymco scooter range, the Downtown benefits for 2016 from an attractive Deep Blue color, which complements the current matt gray and white colors. It also becomes compliant with Euro 4 antipollution standards..
