Moto3 Spanish Grand Prix report and results
At the age of 17, Aron Canet won his first race in the World Grand Prix Championship on his home soil in Jerez (Spain). The native of Corbera, winner of the 2017 Spanish Grand Prix after a superb braking in the last corner, leads on the line Romano Fenati and Joan Mir. Report.
Starting off on the hats of wheels, the Spanish Grand Prix has long opposed Marcos Ramirez and his teammate Daryl Binder, before the latter’s fall. Just behind, Romano Fenati and Joan Mir took turns taking the advantage with Aron Canet in ambush, offering Andalusian spectators a breathless brawl between these five drivers until the last turn. In this final curve to the right, Canet distinguished himself by taxing Mir and Fenati on braking to secure the victory. Superb finish !
Driver Estrella Galicia scores his first Grand Prix success on his Honda as the championship enters its first European race after three rounds overseas. For Canet, this home victory erases the disappointment of his fall during the previous race in Austin (United States). The n ° 44, very moved and necessarily delighted to sign his first in front of his fans (below), points to fifth place in the provisional classification that Joan Mir continues to dominate in front of Romano Fenati (74 pts against 65).
Jules Danilo, among the few to have started with a "Soft" tire despite the very high temperatures (25 ° C in the air and not far from 40 ° C on the ground in places), finished this Spanish Grand Prix at the 12th place. The French are in 18th place in the provisional ranking.
