4th South Morvan rally: Langlois wins and Piazza loses the lead
Impressive in the special on the handlebars of his Ducati 1100 Streetfighter, Bruno Langlois won the rally ahead of Bruno Schiltz (Suzuki 750 GSR) and Mickael Porcu (Aprilia 550 SXV). Report of a race rich in twists and turns: things are moving this year !
The road route
The administrative and technical controls and the start of the race take place at the Pôle Moto in Sevrey (71) but the central point of the rally, the arrival and the prize giving will be in St-Jean-de-Vaux, the village or lived Michel Mellenotte, who died during the 2010 Garrigues rally (read). Racing Mob Creusotin is dedicating this fourth South Morvan rally to him.
The route of this fourth South Morvan rally is built on the principle of the trefoil route: four different loops that meander through Burgundy between Sevrey, Saint-Jean-de-Vaux and Aigrefeuille.
Two specials: the brand new Saint-Helène (6.6 km) and that of Aigrefeuille (4.3 km) already covered several times, notably during the 2007 Dark Dog Moto Tour (read) and in reverse during the Rally du Morvan (read).
Day stage
- Loop A: 188 km at the start of the Pôle moto de Sevrey (71), two passages at the St-Helène special, one passage at Aigrefeuille and arrival at St-Jean-de-Vaux
- Loop B: 156 km, departure from St-Jean-de-Vaux, two passages at St-Helène, one passage at Aigrefeuille and return to St-Jean-de-Vaux
Night stage
- Loop C: 116 km, one passage at St-Helène, one at Aigrefeuille and return to St-Jean-de-Vaux
- Loop D: 27 km, one passage through St-Helène then return and arrival at St-Jean-de-Vaux
The route, not marked, is not simple with tiny roads (including about three kilometers of dirt tracks) and many intersections which require great attention to the road book … Many people will go "gardening" (" to find his way "in rallyman dialect) and some will even take penalties for delay at time checks, despite the link times extended for safety reasons (the new rally regulations now reduce the imposed hourly average which was until then 60km / h, to minimize risks when crossing towns).
The stages are fast, and even partly very fast for that of St-Helène, a superb portion where everyone finds their account: a first part of a little over 2 km made up of beautiful more or less tight curves and rows of rows fast, followed by a second part also two kilometers TT style! It is taken almost completely in long rows with just two braking which follow on a small very winding and quite gravel road … All good and for all tastes !
Aigrefeuille, we know: good grip and fast curves, magnificent! We can really expect a great rally … So action !
