Site readers – who, as everyone knows, are a little more fortunate than the others – have already been able to follow the unfolding of the 2019 World Supersport race on Sunday live on the Buriram circuit. For latecomers:
Below are the statements of the drivers who animated the Supersport race on Sunday. Honor to the winner !
Jules Cluzel (Yamaha n ° 16), 1st
"I have never left Thailand with so many points! 45 out of 50 possible is really good. The race was very hard because I did not want to make any mistakes. I could not afford to stay in either. the aspiration of my competitors not to heat the engine with an air temperature of more than 40 ° C. I succeeded in applying my strategy of staying in front during the whole race, taking back control as soon as a competitor was trying to pass. I am obviously happy to start again after two races in GMT94. Thank you to them ".
Randy Krummenacher (Yamaha n ° 21), 2nd
“Second place is a good result for me today. After the start, at the first corner, I was pushed by another rider and had to widen, I had no choice. I lost several positions and I was not able to recover them immediately. During the first few laps my rivals were fast, but after a while I started to catch up. I had a good pace and that helped me climb up to second place. I couldn’t do better today. I can’t wait to get back on the track in Aragon for the third round of the season. I will give my all. that I have, once again, in order to obtain the best possible result ".
Federico Caricasulo (Yamaha n ° 64), 3rd
"The weekend was overall positive. I think the race was affected by my tire choice. Today the temperature was warmer than during practice. At the start, the tire I had chosen favored me, but from the middle of the race he started to slide and I couldn’t attack as hard as I wanted. Anyway, I have to be happy to get the podium hard, to show that we are always staying at the forefront and fighting for the title. I would like to thank my team who did a great job, as always ".
Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki n ° 44), 8th
"The bike wasn’t that bad today, but it was the rules that held us back after my tire pressure was measured as too low (forcing it to go through the pits just before the warm-up lap). , so from the last place on the grid instead of his ninth dropout in qualifying, Editor’s note). I started from the back of the grid and finished eighth. It was therefore impossible to finish in the leading group today ‘hui. I gained a lot of places by attacking for three or four laps, but the leading group was two or three seconds ahead and it was over for me ".
Corentin Perolari (Yamaha n ° 94), 11th
“Well done to Jules. I’m really happy for him. I will apply myself better for qualifying from Spain. Starting too far, we expose ourselves too much to what happened to me (Big fear at the start when the bike Ayrton Badovini crashed into Corentin’s Yamaha R6. Despite a partly torn fairing, it started again from the last position). It does not matter. I am 6th in the championship and above all I have recovered a very good race pace. The click I had during the warm-up has been confirmed and that is the most important. Can’t wait for Spain. I will finally find myself on circuits that I know ".
Jules Danilo (Honda n ° 95), retirement
“Well, it’s a good weekend that ends in a bad way. I think we improved our base compared to Philip Island: we were pretty quick during all the practice sessions, not quite in the Top 10 for now, but we will keep the positive (and forget that in the 8th lap unfortunately, his CBR600RR started to run on three cylinders, forcing him to give up, Ed). I was fighting for the eighth up in the race with Mahias, I was consistent and my feelings on the bike have improved, I understand it better. We will be strong in Aragon in three weeks ".
