Easy to access and compatible with A2 license, it has a good level of equipment: coded key, ABS (not adjustable or deactivatable: damage), complete and readable instrumentation, luggage carrier with grab handles, comfortable saddle and guard – adjustable breeze.

Its sturdy perimeter frame and aluminum swingarm give it dynamic qualities of a good level, even if it doesn’t really contain its weight: 214 kg, or only 14 less than the 1000 V-Strom. The damping is entrusted to a 43 mm telescopic fork and a mono-shock absorber, both adjustable in preload, which effectively contribute to the user friendliness..

Relatively sober with an average consumption of 5.5 l / 100 km, the V-Strom 650 offers a satisfactory range of around 360 km. Supple and offering nice revivals given its displacement (645cc), its twin-cylinder from the late SV650 roadster works wonders in practically all areas, with the exception of the loaded duo where its 69 hp and 60 Nm are a little tight.

Fairly linear in its revving, this engine reveals a more playful temperament in the revs. At steady speed, past 7000 rpm, small vibrations at the levers and footrests are sensitive. If you opt for the Tourer version equipped with side cases, beware of the overall width of the set. !
