Guintoli and Berger want to bounce back to Miller
The first quarter of the 2011 WSBK season did not spoil our two French pilots … Injuries and technical problems respectively deprived Sylvain Guintoli and Maxime Berger of a good start. The American race next Monday looks better: Gas !
Maxime “ no luck ” Berger
Brand new in the category, Maxime Berger for his part endured too many technical problems: severed rear rim sticks (his fall caused the "buzz" in zapping and on the web, see the video below, but also the incredible photo of Roger Lohrer lower still!) then a faulty clutch at Donington, a new clutch problem in the first round at Assen and a broken spark plug at Monza during the second race…
Half the races of our national Mad Max were thus reduced to nothing by regrettable hiccups from his private Ducati. After his 20th and 18th places during his debut in the World Superbike at Phillip Island, the Frenchman has crossed the finish line only twice..
Two chances and two successes since Maxime entered the points each time: he has five points for the moment, and occupies the 19th place in the standings.
"The next meeting will be held from May 28 to 30 at the Miller Motorsport Park circuit in the United States, a circuit that I will fully discover.", notes the Superstock 1000 runner-up on his official website,"but from memory the Ducatis are rather at ease on this circuit"…
Indeed, without technical glitches – yet ?! – Carlos Checa and his 1098 would have won the double in Salt Lake City last year. Much more at ease on this undulating track than on the more choppy one of Monza, the Ducat ‘easily enter the Top10, and we hope that our little Frenchman will do the same. !
"I will still give everything to get the points, and the biggest possible", launches the No. 121 of the Supersonic team a few days before the fifth round of the championship,"i knew it wouldn’t be easy but morale is intact and i promise i will go get him the top ten".
