The WSBK in the USA this weekend and in Russia next year !
This weekend – watch out, shopping on Monday! – takes place at Miller Motorsport Park (United States) the fifth round of the World Superbike championship. And next year, the WSBK riders should also race in Russia… Explanations.
WSBK 2012 in Russia
Gathered last weekend at the Russian National TV Center in Moscow, Paolo Flammini (Managing Director of Infront Motorsports) and Alexander Yakhnich (Managing Director of Yaknich Motorsport) announced that a partnership agreement had been concluded between the two companies.
Yakhnich Motorsport thus becomes the organizer of the new Russian round of the Superbike World Championship, and acquires the TV and marketing rights for its national market. The intention is clear: to host the World Superbike in Russia in 2012! "To this end, many negotiations are underway with a number of circuits for the FIM homologation application process.".
"Honored to have achieved this prestigious goal"Alexander Yakhnich does not forget to thank the Russian government for its support,"in particular to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov. Motorcycle racing in Russia is preparing to host the World Superbike Championship and this will contribute to the growth of the sport in our country in the best possible way.".
"Russia is one of the most important countries in the world, with a rapidly growing economy. We believe that the World Superbike Championship is the most suitable way to help the motorcycle market in Russia, with a plan that foresees the growth of young Russian riders internationally in our four categories.", for his part declared Paolo Flammini.
"Helping the motorcycle market in Russia"
Present at this ceremony, the Director General of SBK Paolo Ciabatti and the President of the Russian Motorcycling Federation Alexander Lunkin also attended the presentation on the "Two Countries Cup", an UEM trophy organized for Italian and Russian riders with the ‘Open Stock 600.
The two events of this competition will take place in Misano on June 12 as part of the Superbike World Championship in San Marino, then on the new Canyon circuit in Kazan (Russia) on August 21. Case to follow: ??????? ?? ???????????? !
