The English team Fixi Crescent is embarking on a second World Superbike campaign and again aligns the only two Suzuki on the grid. Their top driver Camier left for a lap and teamed up in 2013 with a young Frenchie: Jules Cluzel !

WSBK 2013: presentation of the Suzuki team

First in the Superbike "constructor" world championship in with Corser (also titled) and Kagayama, then again third in with Haslam (2nd in the rider standings behind Biaggi!) And Guintoli, Suzuki has occupied the bottom of the standings for two seasons and barely revive…

Last year, the new breath that the Crescent team was supposed to bring – in place of the Alstare team – did not allow the Yellows to regain the outposts, or on too rare occasions: one, one and two fifth places, that’s about it…

It must be recognized that the relapse of John Hopkins – repeated injuries – did not help the English team. While coming out of a very good year 2011 in British Superbike with this team, "Hopper" again missed the boat in WSBK.

All the hopes of Suz ‘therefore rested in 2012 on the broad and high shoulders of Leon Camier but his GSX-R1000 was clearly not up to par, especially at the start of the season. And the English – to add more? – was unable to qualify properly on the starting grid.

In the end, "Kamir" scored in 2012 half as many points as the previous season, when he supported Max Biaggi in the official Aprilia team. The fall in the world ranking is also severe since it goes from 7th to 14th place !

Despite everything, his big boss gives him total confidence and is even grateful: "our first important step in the 2013 season was Leon Camier’s re-engagement with the Fixi Crescent team and the GSX-R"says Paul Denning.

"In my opinion, Leon is the most underrated World Superbike rider "Says the former boss of the Suzuki MotoGP team, firmly convinced that the n ° 2 has"a huge talent and a potential winner".

Denning, visibly less impressed by the work done by his partner Yoshimura, decided for 2013 to entrust the Crescent team "engine manufacturing and maintenance at Verwood headquarters".

The venerable Fujio Yoshimura, his technical manager Yohei Kato and their team will now focus only on the "development" aspect of the 4-cylinder racing Gex, which have a hard time facing the BMW and Kawasaki 4-legs in particular…

The very last tests in Jerez seemed to validate this new division of labor: the GSX-Rs were on fire – literally! – and Camier’s n ° 2 occupied the fourth place on the timesheet, the fifth if we consider the "ghost" time of Sykes (read)…

On the other side of the box settles in 2013 a rookie that the French bikers will follow very closely:! The former – but young – Grand Prix driver replaces John Hopkins within the Suzuki team.

But Jules also takes over from Maxime Berger: the tamer of 1198 for the last two seasons will not participate in the 2013 WSBK, but he has already found refuge at GMT94 (read our).

The contingent of French drivers in WSBK has three members again: who will clearly play the title on Max Biaggi’s old RSV4, who will aim for the Top 5 in the dry at the controls of his official Kawa and Jules in "Joker" capable of anything !

Too irregular to stay in Moto2, Jules proved to his detractors that he could be counted on for an entire season. In the rhythm of the best from his first race in Mondial Supersport, he subsequently delivered a formidable duel against the king of the category, Kenan Sofuoglu.

The 2012 rookie scored four wins (as many as the three-time Turkish champion) and was only beaten by 21 points. "We are very happy to have him with us, he has already integrated very well and according to the first tests, watching him ride should be very exciting. !", already rejoices Paul Denning.

Impressed by the power of his new Superbike during its first runs, our "Coq Supersportif" could well impress us in turn. Because like Loris Baz last year, "Djoulz Cloudzel" is there to learn … but also to seize every opportunity to shine !
