Motorcycle prep: Yamaha Vmax Infrared by JvB-moto
The iconoclast Vmax blows in 2015 on its thirtieth candle, an anniversary celebrated through a special Carbon series available in concessions in March. The German trainer JvB-moto also pays tribute to the Yamaha "power cruiser" with a radically transformed version, between dragster and Cafe Racer.

Vmax at max power !
Almost unrecognizable with its minimalist handmade carbon rear part, this Vmax "Infrared" is the work of Jens vom Brauck, founder of the famous JvD-moto preparation brand based in Cologne (Germany).
Big fan of this emblematic model of Yamaha production, "JvD" wanted to mix the cafe racer and dragster genres on a base of, while integrating parts of the first model from 1985 – such as the aluminum side scoops – for the clap of historical eye.
The result is spectacular, polished, and particularly highlights the enormous V4 of the Vmax, a true mechanical cathedral of 200 hp in free version !
We note the presence of many new elements shaped by JvB, like the front fender and the tank under the aluminum saddle..
Carbon is also in the spotlight, especially in the headlight trim but also specific wheel flanges and the (false) tank cover covering the "house" air box. The exhaust is also completely modified and ends with an elegant Termignoni silencer. Sure the 4-cylinder V must "sing" beautifully !
Motogadget indicators, strap handlebars, minimalist instrumentation consisting of an analog tachometer and paint inspired by the colors of the 1985 Yamaha Grand Prix team complete this spectacular transformation..
This Vmax "Infrared" is added to the long – and beautiful – list of Yard Built projects from Yamaha (read in particular). Which means, alas, that it will not be marketed as is. On the other hand, homologated parts will be available to allow owners of the current Vmax 1700 to personalize their bike based on this preparation..
Two other Vmax Yard Built preparations are being transformed by renowned preparers: stay tuned !
