Suzuki C1500T Intruder: two French preparations
Suzuki France has entrusted two C1500T Intruders to young French preparers, François Lecomte and Jeremie Magri. The first should insist on the ” Touring Bagger ” side of the machine, the other should turn it into a ” Racer ”… Missions accomplished !
In recent years, the Hamamatsu firm has been launching these new models of motorcycles and scooters in a trickle … But Suzuki France does not lack imagination or energy to continue to offer "new products" !
After numerous limited series or special editions derived from its sports cars and roadsters, the French subsidiary has decided to tackle the – juicy – niche of customs based on its C1500T Intruder, "custom chic" present in the catalog for a year and a half..
"For this daring challenge", explain the French officials, "we called on two young trainers who had very precise specifications and a budget of 6000 euros including tax to respect, without falling into the trap of extremes by offering motorcycles impossible to drive ".
Dominique Li Pat Yuen, head of marketing and communication at Suzuki France, told Site that this is not a special series: "it remains an exercise in style which serves to show what can be done with this bike. . Customers are free to be inspired by it! "
The first preparer retained by the manufacturer is François Lecomte alias Leuk, a little guy from the North of France. Aged 26, he has lived off his passion for two years: "he opened his workshop to prepare and maintain motorcycles of all styles in the suburbs of Lille in 2012", informs Suz ‘.
Leuk’s mission was to accentuate the Touring Bagger side of the original bike. He therefore modified "his" Intruder in many ways: saddlebags, rear and front mudguards, lights, saddle, handlebars, pots … and paint, of course. !
The original bitons colors – a dull hair – give way to a white and metallic blue tinsel, skillfully executed by the specialist painter Bruno Potyra aka "Elvis" or "Zking" !
"The starting point posed a problem for me", admits François: "it’s complicated when you have a motorcycle already borrowed from a certain style and a very specific theme is imposed on you, the touring bagger. where are you going to start … I wasn’t sure where I was going, but I was going with my head down and then step by step the bike took shape, and the result is exactly as I imagined it! "
"It’s cool to have given this opportunity to young trainers like us," he continued, "it also allows us to show what we are worth to the old ones!"
Equally “djeunz”, the author of the second preparation is called Jeremie Magri, but he is better known in the community under the name of Kiki. "You might have seen his work recently on a Suzuki 750 GSXE Cafe Racer, but today it’s the Intruder C1500T that he’s agreed to reinterpret in his own way," says Suz ‘.
The Lyonnais worked hard to give "his" C1500T a more sporty attitude. Suzuki France believes that "(his) task turned out to be more complex, because Kiki is carrying out the project alone, from the paint to the hulls, including the smallest details, nothing escapes him".
Quilted saddle in the purest Racer style, truncated rear part and shortened front mudguard, strapped front light to access the circuit … The C1500T looks like a Muscle Bike, or even a Superbike thanks to the special "Barry Sheene" color. Of the nicest effect.
These two achievements – which will be exhibited at the Show Bike in Montalivet (33) from June 27 to 29 – were produced "in just three weeks for Suzuki France", Dominique Li Pat Yuen tells us. For an average customer, "the delay would be two or three months, which remains very reasonable. As for the price, our two models are valued at € 19,000". So, charmed ?
Kiki is very excited: "I am really happy that Suzuki contacted me to participate in this custom project. I already had a lot of orders in progress, but I did not hesitate for a second, because this It’s not every day that a manufacturer knocks on your door and offers you that. I also think that this experience will open doors for me and why not bring me new orders ", based on C1500T … or other !
