MOTORRAD Podcast Curve Discussion Episode 3

E-motorcycles in everyday life

Not exactly the most popular topic among motorcyclists, but simply indispensable – electric motorcycles. And nobody wants to overhear this charming podcast episode.

F.olge # 03 – E-motorcycles in everyday life

Even before the climate demos, electric motorcycles were a hot topic. At the regulars’ table, in forums and petrol talks. In this heated debate, we neither want to evangelize nor do life cycle assessments. Because neither the one nor the other drive is climate-neutral. For the 2019 volunteer project, we planned to take stock. We wanted to show how wide the range is now and find out how e-bikes move us. Emotionally and physically. Whether they can be an alternative. Or whether they are the devil’s stuff that no one should approve of. But in essence it was about the question of whether the new drive fulfills the actual mission of motorcycling: enjoyment of individual movement. In addition, each of the five vehicles had to face more or less everyday challenges. Which bike attracts the most attention? Which two-wheeler is the fastest? Which motorcycle can honk the loudest when careless pedestrians scramble across the red light? And which large rolling battery is easiest to slide when the display stays dark? With Tobias Beyl and Mona Pekarek, we remember an encounter with lasting effects.
