In the very bubbling circle of sports, the Japanese show themselves almost like metronomes: a new decoration every year, an overhaul every 2 years, a new machine every 4 years. At MV-Agusta, we see things differently: we do not change machines but we develop a new variation from time to time (limited series or evolution).
After the Senna, the Agostini, the Tamburini, the Veltro, the Corsica, the Mamba, the Platino, the S, the R, the CC (don’t throw any more …), the timeless F4 1000 arrives in this version R 312 – a number that slams like an affront to repression, an insult to reasonableness, daring for the tachometer. This 312 is the speed in km / h claimed by this F4 1000. The Rimini firm does not hesitate to qualify its youngest as the fastest production motorcycle in the world. Sorry Miss Hayabusa; your record no longer holds.
Obviously, this new F4 is not just an R decked out with a simple 312 sticker. Italian artisans have once again manipulated a few ingredients to enhance the flavor of this forbidden dish. A latest generation Magnetti Marelli injection takes care of managing the 183 horses of the “bella”. 9 more nags than the R gained thanks to an optimized intake (longer ducts, sections increased from 46 to 48 mm), retouched camshafts and the adoption of 30 mm titanium intake valves. Of course, the wheel respects Euro 3, and is on par with the latest armada of Japanese sportswomen..
On the chassis side, it is stronger than in the land of the rising sun and faithful to the house tradition of maousse matos: inverted Marzocchi fork of 50 mm in diameter, radial braking and forged aluminum rims from Brembo, Sachs shock absorber with double speed of compression. And it wouldn’t be a purebred tracker if it weren’t for a few little bonuses, including an EBS system (a kind of anti-skating), new very classy colors (the traditional red-gray, the black of the R, and this new pearly white on dark skirt) and a price that climbs compared to the standard R.
