VTR Customs BMW K100 RT "Boes.ch"
Boat builder cafe racer
Content of
In cooperation with the boat builder Boesch, VTR Customs did not create an amphibious vehicle, but the noble Cafe Racer BMW K 100 RT "Boes.ch". According to the Swiss, the motorcycle is street legal.
39,000 CHF, that’s currently around 36,480 euros. This is how much the converted BMW K 100 from 1985 costs. Part of the contract: the future owner must allow the conversion to be displayed at Glemseck 101 and the BMW Days in Garmisch.
But let’s start from the beginning: Stucki 2 Rad-Center is a BMW motorcycle dealer in St. Gallen. VTR Customs is a brand or department of the retailer that deals with custom projects. Not only about high-priced prestige objects, but also about customized bikes close to the respective budget. The customizers are not limited to BMW motorcycles. The other of these two Swiss companies is the boat builder Boesch.
Wood applications time consuming and expensive
Both of them got together to convert the BMW K 100. Cello Brauchli took care of the manual work on the part of VTR Customs. The aluminum cockpit, aluminum rear and the aluminum side cover are hand-stamped by him. Yves Knobel designed and built the leather seat, logos and pinstripes were hand-painted by Johanna Vogelsang, the vintage blue special paint was from Freuler, the exhaust from UniT Garage, brakes and levers are from Magura. The most complex and expensive thing about the BMW K 100 RT "Boes.ch" are the wood applications: boat builder Domenic Roner von Boesch was busy with it for weeks.
Voltmeter on the side panel, switch buttons from the 1970s and the chrome hook come from the boat builder’s parts store.
