Yamaha is relaunching the career of its Majesty 125 with a new version that is more modern, more dynamic and more practical. Available under the name Skyliner S at MBK, this city scooter made in Taiwan will land in dealerships mid-June 2014 at a price of 3490 euros.
Among the main stylistic changes made to this Majesty S / Skyliner S, let us quote in particular the new design of the fairings and their reduced volumes compared to the fire Majesty 125, the use of LEDs on the position lights and the rear light or the original three-part instrument panel, with needle dial for fuel level and engine speed and digital display for speed, trips and time.
Announced for 148 kg all full and 795 mm saddle height, this new scooter should be accessible and relatively easy to turn on its 13-inch wheels (all the technical information below).
At the mechanical level, it uses the 4-stroke single cylinder used by Yamaha / MBK on their 125cc with large wheels (Xenter on the Japanese side, Oceo for its French brand), an engine recognizable by its radiator in the lateral position which delivers 11.6 hp and 11.6 Nm of torque.
The chassis itself is also inspired by large-wheel models, particularly in terms of the horizontal positioning of the mono-shock absorber. At the front, a non-adjustable telescopic fork provides steering and damping functions, while elegant petal discs (267 mm at the front and 245 mm at the rear) take care of the braking.
Finally, in terms of practical aspects, this new Majesty S / Skyliner S has a practical flat floor lined with a lashing hook, its trunk accommodates a full face helmet, while a "500 ml" bottle would find its place in storage space located in the apron. The passenger benefits from retractable footrests, a visually wide seat and grab handles..
