Peugeot expands its range
Leader on the 50 cc market with 24% market share, the leading French manufacturer is offering ten "new products" at the Mondial. In fact, two new scooters and eight new "sports" versions of its Satelis and Geopolis … The Lion has fangs !
Leader on the 50 cc market with 24% of the market share, the Lion de Sochaux was proud to unveil this morning at the Mondial du Deux-Roues to the international press its New Vivacity which immediately positions itself as a compact and perfectly equipped scooter.
Battery life increased by 40% over its predecessor – which appeared nine years ago! -, possibility of bringing two helmets, ultra-complete dashboard: the cyclo with the "Urban Chic" look is intended to be versatile and financially attractive. Also note the four-stroke engine planned for the second half of 2008.
A functional and utility 125 cc four-stroke single-cylinder: this is the credo of the new Sum Up: with its 13-inch wheels, 115 kg and flat floor, it is easy to imagine that it will quickly become the darling of delivery men !
Its front face has been revised and its electronic injection allows it to pass Euro 3 standards without hindrance. Standards which do not hamper the performance of the Satelis 125 Blacksat if we are to believe Peugeot, which claims the title of the most efficient 125 scooter of the world in 2006 thanks to its compressed engine.
The French two-wheeler adds a layer of it by offering a matte black livery, a sport screen and polished aluminum rims! Its sport saddle and 260 mm front discs complete the mood: with its 17 Nm of torque, the "little" Peugeot has high ambitions … and the means to satisfy them !
On its Satelis range, the second European brand continues to emerge its claws: previously dedicated to the Geopolis range, the RS finish is now available on the 125/250 and 500 cc Satelis. Retaining all the strengths of the series (load capacity, maneuverability, equipment and complete instrumentation …), the RS finish also brings a pearly black dress, machined aluminum rims of the most beautiful effect and a smoky sport screen which gives the vehicle a classy and sporty aura. This radical scooter will only be available in a "Premium" version.
Finally, with its Geo RS, Peugeot continues its subtle marriage between comfort and sport: its large wheels already gave it remarkable handling and stability, but its "Sport chic" look further emphasizes its superb pearly black parts..
A daring bet for the manufacturer who wants to attract a male clientele and why not … biker! With its 15 to 22 hp engine, its liquid-cooled four-stroke engine and its measured weight (150 to 160 kg), the Geo can afford the big gap between the "two worlds": with its 16-inch wheels , this "moto-scooter" could overcome the crippling effect of the wheels of "caddies" equipping (according to bikers) contemporary scoots…
And for those who still have some doubts, the Geo 400 and its almost 33 hp (and 38.1 Nm of torque!) Is a challenger…
